1. Request Parking limitations near West Valley Medical (John Blaisdell)
11-03-2008 Mr. Blaisdell requests stronger parking regulations on sections of Elm Street and
Fairview Avenue near West Valley Medical Center. Currently there are red curbing and "No
Parking" signs on the South side of Elm Street. The area is congested and available parking
limited.
The motion was made and the TC agreed unanimously to table the issue until site visits could be
conducted to gather information and a better understanding of the situation.
12-01-2008 Members of the Commission visited the area in question. After discussion of their
findings, the Commission made the motion and agreed unanimously to make no changes at this
time. The Traffic Commission noted that it may be necessary to revisit the issue at a future time.

1. Request "Stop" sign on Cromwell Street. (Angie Hansford)
A request was made to the Traffic Commission by Ms. Angie Hansford accompanied by a
petition signed by residents living in the Manchester Park Subdivision. Ms. Hansford's
request is for a Stop Sign to be installed on Cromwell Street at the intersection of Cromwell
and Manchester Drive off of Airport Avenue. Ms. Hansford's concern is that "this intersection
is very busy and has had a number of accidents". Cromwell Street is located within
Manchester Park Subdivision.
Upon checking, Chief Allgood reported no recorded accidents at that intersection. Brian
Billingsley, a member of the Commission, lives in that subdivision and agrees it is a very
busy intersection.
City sign policy explains that City procedure is for the subdivision to purchase additional
signs for the City to install and that the subdivision is responsible for obtaining written
permission from the property owner where the sign will be placed and providing that written
permission to the City.

decision.
The next Traffic Commission Meeting will be January 5, 2009 @ 10:30 in the Mayors
conference room.
