1. Request Thomas Jefferson Charter School directional sign on Smeed Parkway (Ralph
Smeed)
A request was submitted to the Traffic Commission by EIJay Waite on behalf of Ralph
Smeed for permission to install a directional sign for the Thomas Jefferson Charter School at
the entrance to the facility off Smeed Parkway.
City Code does not allow for signs to be placed in the R-O-W or for signs to impede the
Vision Triangle. Placement suggested for the above sign violated both restrictions.
The motion was made and the TC agreed unanimously to have Brian Billingsley, Director of
P&Z, contact Mr. Smeed and discuss alternative locations for the sign.

The next Traffic Commission Meeting will be March 02, 2009 @ 10:30 in the Mayors
conference room.
