1. Request Stop sign on 12' and Main Street (Leo Holmes)
Mr. Holmes submitted the above request to the Traffic Commission for consideration.
Traffic Commission is familiar with the above location and has concern that a Stop sign at
12 and Main Street would back traffic to the Railroad tracks. In reviewing the current
situation the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously that the above location is not a safe
location for a Sto si n.

Letter to Mr. Holmes expressing Traffic Commissions decision.
2. Request for ° Crosswalks" at Montana and Alder and a°Flashing School sign" (Ron Fisse)
Recent completion of the new Washington Elementary School has significantly increased
traffic flow and the number of elementary age pedestrians in the area. Mr. Fisse requests
attention to the intersection of Montana Avenue and Alder Street.
There are currently no crosswalks, sidewalk or curb and gutter on that section of Montana
Avenue near Alder Street. It is agreed by the Traffic Commission that further investigation is
needed including consideration of a new crossing technology known as a"HAWK" crossing.
The motion was made and TC agreed unanimously to have multiple members of the
Commission make site visits to the area and report back at the next meeting,

Send correspondence to Mr. Fisse expressing Traffic Commissions
decision.
Perform site visits and report findings at next meeting.
3. Request installation of two "Stop Signs" at the 11' Avenue Bridge (Ricardo Calderon, City
Engineering dept.)
City engineering recommended installation of Stop signs at the above locations.
Brent Orton expressed concerns about stopping the flow of traffic on 11 Avenue and other
members of the Commission could not recall a Stop sign being there previous to the bridge
being rebuilt. The general opinion of the commission is that this is not a high traffic area and
should be left as it was prior to the rebuild. Further action could be taken in the future should
additional information dictate a need.
The motion was made and TC agreed unanimously to leave the intersection as is at this
time.
