Request Stop sign on 12�' and Main Street (Leo Holmes) Mr. Holmes submitted the above request to the Traffic Commission for consideration. Traffic Commission is familiar with the above location and has concern that a Stop sign at 12 and Main Street would back traffic to the Railroad tracks. In reviewing the current situation the Traffic Commission agreed unanimously that the above location is not a safe location for a Sto si n. , ,... Letter to Mr. Holmes expressing Traffic Commissions decision. 2. Request for ° Crosswalks" at Montana and Alder and a°Flashing School sign" (Ron Fisse) Recent completion of the new Washington Elementary School has significantly increased traffic flow and the number of elementary age pedestrians in the area. Mr. Fisse requests attention to the intersection of Montana Avenue and Alder Street. There are currently no crosswalks, sidewalk or curb and gutter on that section of Montana Avenue near Alder Street. It is agreed by the Traffic Commission that further investigation is needed including consideration of a new crossing technology known as a"HAWK" crossing. The motion was made and TC agreed unanimously to have multiple members of the Commission make site visits to the area and report back at the next meeting, ���, Y,�ti ��t ����w. Send correspondence to Mr. Fisse expressing Traffic Commissions decision. Perform site visits and report findings at next meeting. 3. Request installation of two "Stop Signs" at the 11�' Avenue Bridge (Ricardo Calderon, City Engineering dept.) City engineering recommended installation of Stop signs at the above locations. Brent Orton expressed concerns about stopping the flow of traffic on 11 Avenue and other members of the Commission could not recall a Stop sign being there previous to the bridge being rebuilt. The general opinion of the commission is that this is not a high traffic area and should be left as it was prior to the rebuild. Further action could be taken in the future should additional information dictate a need. The motion was made and TC agreed unanimously to leave the intersection as is at this time. r�c r=� � � r Send memo to Ricardo Calderon, City Engineering department. 4. Request for two "Historic Train Depot" signs at the corner of 10 & Arthur and at 7"' 8 Arthur (Anne Marie) A request was made on behalf of the Downtown Subcommittee. The motion was made and TC agreed unanimously that the signage would help and recommend it be a roved. � Send memo to Street Dept. requesting signage The next Traffic Commission meeting is scheduled for January 4th at 10:30 am
