Previous Meeting Notes 12-07-2009 � ' `°' Request for "C�osswa/ks°at Montana and A/de� and a"F/ashing Schoo/ sign"(Ron Fisse) Recent completion of the new Washington Elementary School has significantly increased tra�c flow and the number of e%mentary age pedestrians in the area. Mr. Fisse requests attention to the intersection of Montana A venue and Alder Street. There are currently no crosswalks, sidewalk or curb and gutter on that section of Montana A venue near Alder Street. lt is agreed by the Tra�c Commission that further in vestigation is needed induding consideration of a new crossing techno%gy known as a"HA WK" crossing. The motion was made and TC agreed unanimously to have multiple members of the Commission make site visits to the area and report back at the next meeting, ., ,.5. 5 . �:,,� . ............ „ Send correspondence to M� Fisse exp�essing Tra�c Commissions decision. ,. Current Meeting Notes 01-04-2010 Site visit findings and follow-up discussion Geographic factors noted are: (see attached exhibits) • Intersection Offset • Detached sidewalk on the South side of Alder Street • No sidewalks on all 4 legs Long-term Geographic factors to consider: (see attached exhibits) • The newly open section of Alder Street is to become a"Blvd" like setting which will eliminate the currently offset intersection. Suggested Long Term Solutions: • Install H.A.W.K.
