1.) Request to install Street light at or near 2914 S. Ohio (Angel Mireles)
Mr. Mireles, who lives at 2914 S. Ohio, requests a street light be installed oi an existing power
pole in front of his home. Mr. Mireles states there are no street lights on that section of roadway
and there have been a string of burglaries at several of the houses on S. Ohio including his. He is
hoping that a street light might deter the thieves.
A motion was made aid Traffic Commission agreed unaniinously to review the area for lighting.
[f additioia) lighting is needed, and a pole with a transformer exists, the City will place a light on
it. [f no pole with a transformer exists, the TC will re-visit at the October meeting.

2.) Request Crosswalk at Linden & Windsor (Mark Harkins)
Mr. Harkins phoned in the above request. A crosswalk previously located at this location was
removed by the TC in February of 2007. A Traffic Analysis determined minimal use of the cross-
walk in question. Wilson School's principal was contacted for input and had no objection to
removal of the cross-walk. In February of 2007, the Traffic Commission determined , in the
interest of safety, is to remove the existing cross-walk and re-direct students to cross at the
nearest "controlled intersection".
A motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to approach property owners
regarding an LID to place sidewalk on the North side of Linden Street.
A+tit: r q Request Engineering to contact Property owners regarding a
sidewalk LID.
3.) Request to remove Rumble Strips at Montana & Ustick (Chief Allgood)
The Caldwell Police Department has received several complaints from local residents
about the noise and shaking of their houses due to the rumble strips at the above
intersection.
Rumble strips were placed at this intersection to alert drivers of a recent change in signage and
flow at the intersection. TC discussed that the rumble strips have been in place at that location for
5+ years. The intersection would now be considered "familiar" to drivers and therefore the
rumble strips can be safely removed.
A motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to recommend the rumble
strips be removed on the South side of Montana at the above

,,,, ,, _;- Request street crew to remove rumble strips as outlined above.
4.) Request help with Parking on Fairview Ave near hospital(Lori Rorabaugh)
Ms. Rorabaugh came into the office seeking help to relieve the parking issues around her home.
Her home is an older home with a typical narrow, single lane driveway. Cars, employees
of the hospital mostly, park very close to both sides of her drive on a daily basis, that,
along with the solid line of cars along the opposite curb, result in her not being able to get
into or out of her driveway.

4. C011t.
The TC continuously receives requests for help from property owners around the hospital. After
much discussion the TC came up with immediate and long term solutions for Ms. Rorabaugh.
They are the following:
• Paint the curbing into her driveway red to provide her room to easily and safely enter and
leave her drive. Make the same offer to all property owners with driveways fronting
Fairview Aveiue between Logan and Mead.
• Review from an "enforcement" standpoint, placing "2 Hour Parking" only signs along
l O Avenue and Logan froi Kimball to the length of Fairview Golf Course.
Review from an "enforcement" standpoint, placing "Residential Parking Only" only
signs along the south side of Fairview Avenue from Logai street to Mead street.
A motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to recommend the above
solutions.
+ ,,, ,,, 'cc' Review the ability to enforce the above signage suggestion and report
back at the October TC Meeting.
..+CtCt1";,ilw +t Direct Street Dept. to paint curb as indicated above.
5.) Request to make Halstead Street between Kimball Avenue and Arlington Street
a one way going West (Bruce and Janet West)
The West's live at the corner of Arlington Avenue and Halstead Street. The section they refer to
is an unimproved dirt section of Halstead Street. The West's feel "the dust from the alley has
become unbearable and the oiling an expense they can no longer afford". Various other properties
front and use the above section of road.
A motion was made and Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to invite the West's to solicit
and document input from the other neighbors and property owners fronting that section of
Halstead and provide that input to the TC. The TC will revisit the request upon receiving the
', solicited input from the West's.
