Re: February 1, 2001 Commission Meeting
Those present were: Airport Mgr., Curt Hawkins, Commission Chairman: Dr. Roy
McLaughlin, Commission members: Phil Reed, Phil Fouts and from the Caldwell City
Council: Mike Gable.
The meeting was called to arder at 12:03 PM by Dr. Roy McLaughlin. The minutes of the
previous meeting were approved. Items from the agenda and others that were discussed
included:
• 1. Mike Gable led a discussion on the active role the Commission members should play.
Even though we are in an advisory capacity we can still have a voice. Most of the
meeting time was taken up by this discussion. Commission members agreed to work
in the following areas or with the following organizations.
Ray Caldwell will be the liaison to the FAA
Phil Reed will be the liaison to the AOPA
Max Barker building standards
Dr. Roy McGlaughlin pilots on the Caldwell airport
The Commission voted on and it passed unanimously to request the FAA search all
avenues to install an ILS at the Caldwell Airport. Curt had a letter written requesting this
ILS and it was signed by all Commission members present and signed by proxy by those
members not present.
Meeting adjourned at 12:45 PM.
