Minutes of January Airport Commission Meeting: Randy Rudeen motioned and Mike Reed seconded to approve the January meeting minutes. Approved. 2. Status of Airport Zoning Ordinance: The airport will be classified as Ml, light industrial. The ordinance states what can and cannot be built on airport property. Curt talked to City Attorney Mark Hilty and Mark said the next step in the zoning ordinance would be to put together the particulars of the zone rules. Curt has a copy of the last draft of rules written up and will send it to the commission members to see what changes need to be made. 3. Update on FY05 AIP: Tom Lemenger updated us on the AIP. He said Toothman Orton has started the design even though the engineering contract with the owners is not signed yet. Tom got out the map and showed us what areas of the airport will be seal-coated and what areas will be paved. He stated there should be enough space for a 60' hangar row that the aircraft can access from the taxiway on either side of the hangars. There may be room for another 40' hangar row below the 60' hangars. Curt suggested that there be two 50' hangar rows instead. They will be easier to rent. Curt asked what to do about the faded runway painting marking. They are probably not covered by the AIP. Mack asked if there was an option on the land yet. Tom said the environmental needs to be approved • by the FAA before the approval on the option is finalized. . , • 4. Airport Appreciation Day: Curt said that the EAA sponsored the last Airport Appreciation Day, which would be great this time also. They use their own insurance. October 8, 2005 is the tentative date of the AAD. We need a really good chairperson, outside of the airport manager's office, to handle it and to contact the EAA to check if they will sponsor us. Curt said that Roger Smith at the Ontario airport would be happy to help us find someone. Curt will line up the music and emcee the event. The B 17 will be in Caldwell June 14 —17. It was discussed that this would be an excellent time for our Airport Appreciation Day but the timing is probably too soon. Mack asked for a gate card update. 2/3rds of hangar owners have their cards. It is difficult to tell how many more cards will be assigned since we do not have the exact number of lessors. Randy asked for an update on break-ins at the airport. None have been reported recently and none since the new gates have been installed. The meeting was adjourned at 12:47. • •
