AVIATION COMMITTEE MINUTES
April 6� 1989
Present: Esther Stoddard, Mack Kreizenbeck, R.J. Ring,
Paul Collins, Jerry Olsen, Sandy Straight, Marty Koch,
Whitney Smith, Lee Rice, Kathie GrEen
Minutes from March 2, 1989 were approved as presented.
Jerry Olsen, Manager, reported that the gopher control
people will be at the airport Tuesday or Wednesday. The
sweeper from the City would be there March 2. The airport
restaurant is being expanded. Part af the carpet will be
taken up and more linoleum will be put dawn making it
easier to pass inspection. The city has approved the Avjet
lzase at the same facility. Facilities have increased in
I annual rates. ,7erry suggested having a$50.00 contract for
workmen's compensatian.
The committe� moved and seconded to have comm�ttee approval
on all sub leases.
E.P.A wants ta do more testing. There was a discussian on
why they are stilZ testing. There will be more testing to
follow.
Avid Flyer has shown an interest in expanding their '
operatian. They would like a building to manufacture
several more designs. It would house a fiberglass
department, woodworking department and offices. They have
asked the City Cauncil for a lease purchase if the City can
guarantee financing. The City is willing to da a larger
75' x 100' building obligation.
Shore & Shore presented their opposition to the proposed
construction and chasen site.
Discussion followed on different options of where Avid
Flyer could put their new building. The committee decided
it needed to look at alI the options and how it would
impact the present glan used at the airpart.
Avid Flyer stated they would clean up their facilities
grounds as soan as possible.

A letter will be drafted to all tenants for clean up.
� Contact will be made scheduling hanger inspections.
Standardized leases at the airport have $300,000.40
, liability insurance. A motion was ma�e and carried to
I delete having to have fire insurance on buildings. Another
motion was made and carried to include in the lease that
debris removal is the lessee's respansibility at his
expense ta be completed in 60 days.
It was reparted the Air-A-Fair Committ2e is busy and
active. Everything is caming along well. It was discussed
putting a bridge across the canal. It was announced that
John Paul Warhawk Museum will open sometime in August.
Jerry Olsen and Paul Collins will put together a proposal
for the committee to take to the City on building a small
park.
Executive meeting open meeting rules were given.
The Committee was asked to think about what they thought
the long term goals and improvements at the airpart should
be far a one, two. five and ten year plan.
