AVIATION COMMISSION MINUTES
June 8, 198g
Present: Marty Koch, Esther Stoddard, Mack Kreizenbeck,
� R.J. Ring, Bob McGee, Whitney Smith� Lee Rice, Jerrg Olsen
and Kathie Gr�en.
Marty Roch called the meeting to arder. A mation was made
and seconded to approve the minutes as presented. Motion
carried.
Jerry Olsen reported that Darwin McKay r�ould like to plant
winter wheat on the north side. It wauld be planted in
September and harvested the following July. The problem
is it may interfere with the AWAS weather system. A
motion was made and seconded ta tabie the mattzr until
Jerry can get further information. Motion carried.
Jerry Olsen stated he will be looking far an area to set
up a compass rose. The City wi�l put it in but an area
wauld have to �ae found at the airport that daesn't have
any interference. Jerry also showed the Commission a
draft of a brochure for the Airport done by Joyce Griffitr
Marketing. It will contain generic information about the
airport and a list of businesses. Individual businesses
can buy adds for $25.00. Joyce Griffith will meet with
each individual business to develop an ad.
A tentative budget was given ta the City. The Gommission
reviewed the budget and approved it as presented.
Esther Stoddard gave a report on the Air-A-Fair
Committse. She stated everything is going r�ally well.
The Wilder Radar Station has really supp�rted the Air-A-
Fair Committee.
Jerry �lsen talcl the Commission that the City will be
putting in a lighted flagpole priar to the air shaw. He
will see about getting a flag.
The Spot-Lite for this month was Jerry Wilda owner of
Idaho Transport Service, Inc. They clo law enfarcement
related flying, scenic flying, charter services and
collect soil and plant samples in eastern Idaho for
testing by Western Laboratories in Parma
