02-01-1990 AIRPOINT MINUTES � r Y � � Caldwell Airport Commission February l, 1990 Present: Esther Stoddard, Bob McGee, Marty Koch, R.J. Ring, Paul Collins, Mack Rreizenbeck Jerry Olsan and Kathie Green The meeting was called to order by Marty Koch. Paul Collins moved, seconded by Esther Stoddard to approve the January minutes after the correction to delete the sentence of "Idaho Power will pay to have this done" is made. Motion carried. Jerry Olson introduced Dennis Crooks from planning and zoning. Dennis showed a preliminary platt map of what is being done at the airport and what is planned in the future. There are 32 parcels which do not include runways or access areas. There would be no changes for present leasors and will go along with the airport master plan. It was stated lease areas need to be platted and recorded in order for leasees to be able to get loans from financial institutions. The preliminary platt map is ready to go to the Planning and Zoning Commission for approval. It would not need a public hearing. Life of the preliminary platt map would be good for one year. The monuments and survey wauld need to be done during the one year time frame for the final platt map. Dennis also suggested giving the sub- division a name. Esther Stoddard moved, seconded by Paul Collins to recommend approval of the preliminary platt map by the Planning and Zoning Commission using the name Aviation Way Sub-Division. Motion carried. The commission will recommend Esther Stoddard, Lee Rice or Joe Shreve be appointed as a member of the Airport Commission to replace the expired term of Esther Stoddard. Jerry Olson reported: *The City will inspect and modify all underground tanks that belong to the City. The airport tanks will cost approximately $30,000. *There will be two air shows at the airport this summer. There will be one in June and one in August. The City will try to coordinate working on the underground tanks with the shows. *He will attend a FAA meeting in Seattle for airpart managers. The expenses will be charged to the airport travel and meeting budget. Since Jerry Olson will be absent for the next regularly scheduled meeting the commission decided to reschedule the next meeting for March 8th. ti � i � The February business spot-lite was presented by Sue Paul and Jim Metzger from Warhawk Aviation. Sue explained Warhawk Air Museum is recognized as a State and Federal Government educational museum. It is an entire era display of patriotism of the 40's, not just of World War II. They have rare and unusual World War II aviation items. Arrangements can be made to reserve the museum for special group tours and meetings. 5he also stated there will be an annual gathering af the Warbirds the first Saturday of August each year. Jim Metzger reported on the airshow being planned for the first Saturday in August. The event will have natianal publicity. Air Classic magazine will cover the air show. It will draw 10,000 to 15,000 people. The gates will open at 8 a.m. The show will start at 12 o'clock noon ending around 4 p.m. Marty Roch moved to adjourn with a second from Esther Stoddard.
