CALDiiSLL AIRPORT COMMISSION
March 8, 1990
Present: Marty Roch, Mack Kreizenbeck, Bob McGee, Dean Dishman, Jim
Dakan, Jack Raymond, Jerry Olson and Kathie Green
The meetinQ was called to order by Marty Koch. Marty introduced Dean
Dishman the new Airport Commissioner appointed by Mayor Jim Dakan.
Mack Rreizenbeck moved that a certificate of appreciation be
presented to Esther Stoddard for serving as a Commissianer on the
Airport Commission. A letter of "thank you" has been sent by Mayor
Dakan.
Bob McGee moved, seconded by Mack Kreizenbeck to approve the February
minutes as presented. Motion carried. Marty stated that Kathie -
Green will not be able to continue doing the minutes. Alternatives
were discussed. Mayor Dakan stated if-someone would take minutes he
would have them typed up.
Mayor Jim Dakan reported he will be exploring avenues for usage of -
the airport. It was originally designed_as a reliever airport for
Boise. He will be looki�g at possibilities for shipping freight and
as a multi-use facility. There are federal funds available for
airports. He wou�.d like to see a second runway opened. He would
also like to see better access into the airport. Ustick Interchange
has been moved down on the priority list with the Idaho
Transportation Department. A road could be bro�ght in from Franklin
following the section lines giving the airport_better access.
Jerry Olson reported he had attended a FFA meeting-in Seattle. The
meeting included airport managers, consultants, enqineers and grant
people. He felt the airport needs to pursue grant funds for the
airport.
Lee Rice asked the Commission to approve a five year lease with
everything else staying the same for Avjet. He will be buying out
the partnership he has with Whitney 8mith, consequently he will need
a new lease. With a five year lease he can buy out the partnership
and make lonqer term improvements. Mack Kreizenbeck moved, seconded
by Bob McGee to recommend to the City Council appronal of a five year
lease for Avjet. Motion carried.
Mack Kreizenbeck moved, seconded by Bab McGee-to approve a sub-lease
from Shore & Shore for Valley Air Photo. Motion carried.
Bob McGee moved, seconded by Mack Kreizenbeck to approve a sub-lease
for Green Arrow Trucking from Avjet. Motion carried.
Mack Kreizenbeck moved, seconded by Bob McGee to install two gates,
one on Linden and one on Aviation Way, using the bid that �vill give

the airport the most benefit. Once the project is finished a letter
�ill be sent out to users of the Qates statinQ if the gates are
damaged they are libel for having them fixed. Motion carried.
Estimates on the cost to fix the sprinkler system will be sought and
costs will be brought back to the Commission. The spstem was damaqed
�vhen City crews blew out the lines for Winter.
Mack Kreizenbeck reported on the Scottsdale Airport at Scottsdale,
Arizona. There are 900 businesses on the airport. They are not all
related to aviation. He also stated they have noise abatement ideas
that might be useful at the Caldwell airport.
