CALDWELL AIRPORT COMMISSION
April 5� 1990
Present: Marty Koch, R.J. Ring, Dean Dishman, Jack Raymond,
Bud Kehne, Paul Collins, Mack Kreizenbeck, Jerry Olson and
Kathie Green
The meeting was called to order by Marty Roch. R.J. Ring
moved, seconded by Jack Raymond to approve the March minutes as
presented. Motion carried.
Jerry Olson reported the preliminary plat for the airport has
been approved by City Planning and Zoning. He has contacted
Jerry Earl to do the final survey. The cost will be $7,030 and
would come out of the capital improvement budget. Paul Collins
moved seconded by Dean Dishman to get a contract from Jerry
Earl to present to the City Council.
Mack Rreizenbeck and Paul Collins were delegated to research
how the Nampa Airport is being run. They will find out what
the cost is for leases and sub-leases.
Jerry stated the City Council has approved a five year lease
for Avjet. They also approved sub-leases for Valley Air Photo
and Green Arrow Trucking. ,
Jerry also reported gates have been installed on Linden and
Aviation Way. The cost will come out of capital improvements.
A letter has been sent to Darwin McKay stating the Airport
Commission's policy for damage to the gates.
Jerry has contacted several contractors for bids on fixing or
installing a new sprinkler system. He has only received one
bid and will seek more. Mack Kreizenbeck will see what it
would cost for volunteers to da the job.
Jerry reported that one half of the chemical spill will come
out of the airport budget. Mack Rreisenbeck and Faul Collins
stated they were opposed to the spill being the Cities
liability.
, AWAS will be finished by May 1990.
Simplots has bought Kelagg Mills. They have a 175 foot
elevator tower that could cause problems for the helicopters at
the hospital. Simplots will light it.
Jerry stated the City has requested a tentative budget for
April 27, 1990. He would like input from the Commissioners on
discretionary ideas. Jack Raymond stated Mayor Dakan is
emphasizing five year goals. Jerry will submit the five year
master plan. Jerry was asked to prepare a tentative budget and
send it out to the Commissioners to review.

Jerry has sent out chemical spill letters to all Tenant
Businesses to let them know what their responsibility is and
what to do. Letters will also be sent to all hanger owners on
chemical spills and inspections.
There will be a float in the Nampa and Boise Parade featuring
Avid Flyer. It will emphasize aviation and the airport.
The Cival Air Patrol met at the airport. They felt really
welcomed and that they were treated well.
Mack Kreizenbeck moved, seconded by Bud Kehne to approve a
standard hanger lease for hanger #2 for Bob Renfro. Motion
carried.
Dean Wilson presented the idea of a water runway at the
Caldwell Airport. It would be the only water runway in Idaho
and would create a new market for the airport. He will do
further research on it.
Paul Collins stated he would also like to see a grass runway
put in at the airport.
