Ring, M.D., Bob McGee, and Dean Dishman Marty Konc �alled the meeting ta order. Jerry Olson stated the pre-applic�tion grant h�s went thraugh the State and �ill be for�aarded on ta the Federal_ Jerry stated he had located a UNICOM base station for $2660 with ' each additional frequency c�sting $60. The �ase station wc�uld be � 10 watts and a portable UNICOM would be 1 1/? to 2�atts. The � State felt the airport needed a new base stativn. The State �ill match 50� of the cost up to a maximum of $804. The Commissian also discussed the need for a scanner if more than ane fr�quency is used. The Commissi�ners will see if they can l�cate other UNICOMs. Jerry reported the City has constructed two taxiway strips 3Q' �ide from the taxiway to the Shore & Shore praperty line. Shore & Shore will eventually �ut in a cancrete ��ad connecting to the taxiway. Jerry reported the vandalism at the airport has decreased with the help from the newspaper, the sheriff's department and the City police. Bud Kehne reported on his meeting with Mayor Dakan concerning time and location of the Airport Commission meeting. The meetings will retain the same meeting time and location. They will be carri�d an in a business Iike manner �ith an improved seating arrangement. A letter will be sent ta Commis�ioners that have miss�d me�tings regarding regulations �s stated in the bylaws of missing three meetings. The Commissioners felt they need active Commissic�ners on the Airport Commission. It was reported the Air-A-F�ir Show �ent well with a large crowa in attendance. John Gray has asked to sub-lease from Lee Rice to da engine rebuilding. Lee Rice's lease is on a month to month basis till the chemical spill is cleaned up. Mack Kreizenbeck moved, seconded by Bud Kehne tv approve a sub-lease for John Gray on the same basis as the Lee Rice lease. A telephone poll will be made. . � ' � The Commission discussed the bids Jerry has received for crack sealing on the old taxiway. The �tork should be done betw�en now and October. Mack Kreizenbeck moved to recommend having Ada Asphalt do the crack sealing an a limited basis seeing how well the job is being done. Bud Kehne seconded the mation. A telephone poll will re made. Jerry stated the sprinkler system has been extended. Avjet is willing to plan and maintain the extensioi� if the Air�art will purchase the grass seed. Bud Kehne moved seconded by Mack Kreizenbeck to purchase the grass seed. A telephone poll �aill be made. Jerry stated h� has discussed with Jahn Blaye and the City Engineer the need for help from the City to get grants for parking and sewers. He will continue working on it. The War Hawk Air Show �ahich was approved earlier, will be August 4, 199d. Jerry reparted an w��at will be happening that day. Dennis Childers asked for approval of an ag operation of limited and occasional loading of sulphur dust to be used an sugar beets. It would be for one manth from 4 a.m. till 7 a.m. There would be no pesticides used and he would carry a one million dollar liability policy. The Cammission felt there was not enough time this year to act on the request but �aould further pursue the reauest for next year. Jerry reported GTE Airphone has contacted him for a lease to install a groun�l station. Mack Kreizenbeck moved� seconded by Bud F{ehne to do a rent survey and to negotiate with GTE Airphone on the lease. The lease is to include an escalating rent clause. A telephone poll will be made. The Commission discussed fixing the VASI. It was decided to hold off until the Maore property was bought. The meeting was adjourned. On July 2, 1990 a vate w�s taken by telephone on the motion to approve a sub-lease for John Gray from Lee Rice, to approv� having Ada Asphalt do crack sealing vn the old taxiway, approved having the airport purchase grass seed to plant the extension where the sprinklers are and to approve a rent surv�y being dane and negotiating a lease with GTE Airphone. All Motions were approved.
