CALDWELL AIRPORT COMMISSION
December 6, 1990
Present: Marty Koch, Paul Collins, Dean Dishman, Budd Kehne,
Mack Kreizenbeck, Bob McGee, Garret Nancolas, Jack Raymond and
Robert Ring.
The Meeting was called to order by Marty Koch at 1205.
Minutes of the November 1, 1990, Meeting were approved.
Hob McGee and Mack Kreizenbeck will be nominated to the
Mayor for another term on the Commission. Their current terms
expire 1/1/91. Both have indicated that they are willing to
serve another term.
The Airport Manager reported that after disucussion with
Planning and Zoning and other affected parties, he did not advise
seeking a variance to build a 40 foot hangar in the remaining
portion of a designated 33 foot block as was proposed at the last
meeting. There is currently space available to build 40 foot
hangars and he wi 1 1 continue to seek a tenant for the 33 foot
space. The Commission appreciates Mr. Rice's suggestion in this
matter and if necessary, may pursue the variance in the future.
The Airport Manager reported that the underground tank
inspections and lining have been completed. Also, the monitoring
systems have been installed and are operationa]..
The Airport Manager reported that negotiations are
continuing with Dean Wilson to establish a manufacturing facility
at the Airport.
The Commission approved a motion to repair the bent portions
of the Airport Beacon Tower. The estimated cost of repairs is
approximately $1,200.
The Airport Manager gave a summary of revenues and
expenditures for the 89/90 fiscal year and the proposed budget
for the 90/91 fiscal year.
Dr. Paul Collins reported that there will be an Air-A-Fair
in 1991. It will be one week earlier than usual due to a
conflict with an air show in Boise the last weekend in June.
Methods of improving road access to the Airport were
discussed by the Commission. It was decided to invite John
Blaye, Caldwell Economic Development, to the Commission Meeting
on January 3, 1991, to get an update on the pl ans for economic
development in the Caldwell area and to discuss �ustification for
an interchange and/or road to the Airport.
The Meeting was ad�ourned at 1255.
