AIRPORT COMMISSION
April 4, 1991
12:00 Noon
Present: Bob McGee, Acting Chairman; Dr. Paul Collins,
Dean Dishman, Budd Kehne, Jack Pearson, Jack Raymond and Dr.
Robert Ring.
The meeting was called to order by Bob McGee at 12:05 p.m.
The minutes of the March 7th meeting were approved.
The Cockpit Restaurant has been sold to Joyce Riley and
Tracy Johnston. It was MOVED and approved to allow Avjet
Aviation to sublease the restaurant facility to the new owners.
The Commission approved an Airport Ground Lease with Larry
Kuenz 1 i. Mr. Kuenz 1 i p 1 ans to bui 1 d a 100' x 40' hangar next to
the one currently being constructed by Wade Woodson. The lease
will specify that construction be completed by 12/31/91.
The Airport Manager reported that the "Red Barons" wi 1 1 be
operating from the Caldwell Airport on May 4th and 5th, 1991.
Mr. Chuck Sundby of Toothman Orton gave an update on the
grant project and showed a map of the proposed taxiway
construction. Bob McGee was selected by the Commission to be
their representative at any meetings concerning the project.
Progress reports will be given to the Commission as deemed
appropriate.
Mark Hickman, who currently has the Airport weed control
contract, presented his ideas for improving the weed control on
the Airport and defined some areas in the contract and
specifications he felt needed clarification. The Airport Manager
will be updating the contract and specifications before the
contract is put out for bid later this year.
The Commission received a letter from Mr. Charlie DeRego,
President of Avid Aircraft, concerning the lease proposal of lots
adjacent to Avid Aircraft. Mr. DeRego's letter was distributed
to the Commission members present and the contents discussed.
The letter was accepted as information and the Commission took no
action. It was decided that the Commission would reply to Mr.
DeRego's letter and ask him for clarification as to whether he is
ready to lease more property at this time.
The meeting adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
