HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-04-1992 AIRPORT MINUTES t � • . AIRPORT COMMISSION June 4, 1992 12:00 Noon Present: Marty Koch, Chairman; Budd Kehne; Bob McGee, Jack Pearson and Bob Renfro. The Meeting was called to order by Marty Koch at 12:05 p.m. The minutes of the May 7, 1992, meeting were approved. The Airport Manager reported that: l. The City is preparing to pave an area on Lot No. 5 (former Percision Flight site) and will be offering the lot and bui 1 ding for 1 ease. Mr. Rice, the current bui 1 ding tenant, has been advised, by letter, that his lease will be terminated. He will be provided with 30 days notice of actual termination. A letter is being sent to Airport Business Tenants outlining plans for this site and asking them to notify the Airport Manager by June 26th if they are interested in renting it. The Commission concurred with the above. 2. The Oregon Antigue and Classic Aircraft Club is still planning to be at the Caldwell Airport the 7th and 8th of July. Approximately 50 aircraft. 3. There may be some increased transient aircraft activity at the Airport during the Boise River Festival the 26th, 27th, and 28th of June. 4. The F.A.A. compliance visit report directs that the gates by Aviation Specialists and the private hangars be kept closed. Everyone's cooperation in this would be appreciated. The Commission approved Lee Rice's proposal for the installation of seven (7) shade hangars on the Avjet leased ramp. These shade hangars will be provided, installed and maintained by Avjet Aviation. The hangars will be attached to concrete lane dividers and will cause no damage or modification to the ramp. The Commission approved acceptance of a$13,950 grant offer from the State of Idaho. This money will be used to assist the Airport with matching funds for the proposed 1993 Airport Improvement Project. The offer will be taken to the City Council On June 15th for their acceptance. Claircom Communications has contacted the Airport Manager about leasing space for a building and antenna installation. This facility will be a part of their air to ground telephone network similar to GTE Airphone and In Flight Phone who now have installations on the Airport. The Commission approved this isntallation and recommended that the Airport Manager proceed with negotiations. / • • 1 Tom Blakley discussed his desire to rent the former Precision F1 ight site for an Aircraft Painting Faci 1 ity. The Commission emphasized the need for compliance with all regulations concerning safety and the E.P.A. in this type of operation. Mr. Blakley assured them he had researched all of this and would comply. He was given a copy of the letter being sent to the tenants concerning this property. The Commission thanked him for his time and told him he will be considered with any others wanting to rent this property. The Meeting adjourned at 12:45 p.m.
