HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-07-1993 AIRPORT MINUTES • �� i , 1 AIRPORT COMMISSION July 7, 1993 Present: Jack Pearson, Acting Chairman; Dean Dishman; Bob Renfro; and LeAnn Simmons. The Meeting was called to order at 12:05 p.m. The minutes of the June 3, 1993, meeting were approved. The Airport Manager reported that: l. Five firms have submitted statements of qualification to act as consultants for the Master Plan update. A panel is reviewing these to select a consultant. 2. Jack Pearson has been selected by the City of Caldwell to replace Jerry Olson as Airport Manager effective July 16, 1993. 3. The taxiway project is progressing. It is anticipated that paving will be done the week of July 12th. Dennis Hardziej, of the Chamber of Commerce, reported that the Air-A-Fair was a success and the Chamber anticipates another two day show next year, but not on the same weekend as the River Festival. He requested the Commission's support of a request to the City Council for 220 volt electric service installation at the Airport for Air-A-Fair vendor booths. The Commission voted in favor of asking the City to install this power. Dick Miller presented information on a proposed Planned Unit Development adjacent to the Airport on the northeast side. The proposal would require Airport access and affect Airport development, so the information P oval was gi en or�act on aken Master Planning process. No app the Commission at this time. • Keith Eisberg of Skydive Idaho requested that LandingoV°de a be expanded approximately 800 feet to the southeast to p larger area for his personal tandem jump. Landing Zone 2 would still be used exclusively by Mr. Eisberg. This would provide him more clearance from existing Airport buildings. This was approved by the Commission. The Airport Manager will get estimates. Bill Waite provided information to the Commission on automatic gates. The Commission felt this might be a good idea for the private hangar gate with each hangar owner sharing the cost. No action was taken. The Meeting adjourned at 1:00 p.m,
