Caldwell Airport Commission
Minutes
January 6th, 1994
Present: Chairman Marty Koch, Dean Dishman, Phil Fouts,
Dr.Roy McLaughlin, Bud Kehne, Bob McGee, FBO
Lee Rice, The mayor's assistant, Jim Reames, and
City Hall's accounts receivable person Cathy
Jensen
The meeting was called to order at 12:05 by chairman Marty
Koch. The minutes of the December 2nd meeting were approved
as mailed. Items from the agenda that discussed:
1. The commission directed the airport manager to write to
the owners of the old cars that have been taking up space
in the parking area for the past two years and ask for
their removal. They have been removed. Case closed.
2. Sports Aviation, which will be building in the Spring,
will probably have their own mechanic who will be doing
their maintenance as well as maintenance on other
aircraft. The commission said no action need be taken
as the area is zoned for commercial use and they will
have all the privileges of any FBO. The discussion was
for information only.
3. The commission directed the manager to pursue reimbusment
from the FAA on the 32.3 acres bought in 1986. It also
directed the manager to pursue buying another 9.3 acres
located adjacent to the airport. The instructions
included getting some rough ideas as to the value of
the 9.3 acres.
4. The commission was unanimous in recommending that any
monies returned on the above 32.3 acres be designated
for expansion/remodel of the exhisting terminal.
Lee Rice was asked to submit ideas in the form of
preliminary drawings as to the expansion needs of the
terminal building.
Visitors Jim Reames and Cathy Jensen exchanged questions
and answeres with the commission on billing and airport
leasing and operating procedures. The meeting adjourned at
