Minutes
June 2nd, 1994
Present Were: Marty Koch, Dean Dishman, Bob Renfro, Dr. Roy
McLaughlin and Phil Fouts of the commission. Jim Reames, the
mayor's assistant, was also in attendance as were several
visitors.
The meeting was called to order by chairman Marty Koch at
12:06. The minutes of May meeting were approved as written
and items discussed were:
1. The commission approved the transfer of tao lots now on
lease to Dr, McLaughlin to Larry Kuenzli. The manager was
instructed to provide the city council with the proper
information for the transfer.
2. Sue Paul of the Warhawk museum requested an additional
60X90 ft. area be added to their land lease area for
expansion of the museum. The commission voted to approve the
request. It further approved keeping the gross lease payment
the same as it is now urith no increase for the additional
land as long as the property is used for the museum. Should
the building be used for anything else, the land lease
payemnt would automatically be incresed to reflect actual
land leased at the rate in effect at that time.
3. Some members of the commission were disappointed with
the results produced by our current weed control program.
After much discusion, Dr.McLaughlin wias appointed as a
one-person committee to check on our contract with Mark
Hickman and to pursue the matter to a satisfactory
conclusion.
4. After a discussion on the landing area for ultralite
aircraft, it was decided that all ultralites should use the
access taxiway near its N.W. end as originally designated.
It was also reaffirmed that the ultralite landing area
is a courtesy extended to ultralite users and is not to be
considered as permanent. Rob Allen, Nampa utralite club
president, agreed to publicize the information. Allen also
said his club would help in signing the area or maybe
painting the taxiway to show the area from the air.
