HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-07-1994 AIRPORT MINUTES .� .- . i • Caldwell Industrial Airport Commission Minutes July 7th, 1994 The meeting aras called to order at 12 noon by Dr. McLaughlin as chairman Marty Koch was a few minutes iate. Those present were: Marty Koch, Dean Dishman, Bob McGee, Dr. McLaughlin, Phil Fouts, Bud Kehne and Elaine Carpenter from the Caldwell City Cquncil. Bill Staytham from the firm of Toothman-Orton was also present. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed and the following items were discussed. 1. The commission appointed Dean Dishman and the airport manager to review the FBO lease for Lee Rice and make a recommendation for the renewal. The review is to include consideration for the lost space in the terminal now used by the manager and the commission. 2. The commission elected to cancel the August meeting due to the heavy vacation schedule of the members. If needed, an emergancy will be called. 4. The commission approved a City Council day to be held in September to acquaint new council members with the the functions of the airport. This is to include a box lunch, bus tour and an explanation of the FAA funding. 5. The subject of airport automobile traffic on the airport traffic was discussed and the commission concluded this was should be conrolled by FBO Lee Rice as it is on his leased area. 6. The commission directed the manager to expedite the , grading and general cleanup of the ar.ea between Aviation ' Way and the nea� commercial hangars. This is to include the fencing that can be put between buildings instead of in front of the buildings. It was determined that the buildings facing Aviatior Way wouTd act as part of the security fencing. This would a11oMr for better and easier weed control and greatly enhance the appearance of these new buildings. Continued � �` � � � � Commission Minutes Page 2. 7. It was noted that the rental property across from the terminal is novi looking better but the lavrn still needs aiork. The commission also requested an inspection inside the building to determine if the interior of the building is being kept up. A member of the commission, lee Rice and the airport manager are to make the inspection. 8. The commission approved the split of the money budgeted for connecting new commercial hangars to the taxiways. It Gias noted that when this money was gone, there would be no more unless budgeted in the future. Those that now qualify must have their building permit no later than the end of September of this year or they lose their share. 9. Bill Staytham of our engineering firm explained the program for updating the master plan. The FAA has funded the project and aie will get started in September with the planning sessions.
