02-01-1996 AIRPORT MINUTES Caldwell Industrial Airport
Minutes
February lst,1996
Another meeting aiithout enough members of the commission to
form a quorum. That's two so far this year. However, those
present discussed all items on the agenda that did not
require an official vote by its members.
Those_present_were: Marty Koch, Bob Renfro and Dr.Roy
McLaughlin of the coimmission, Bill Statham and Kevin Bissel
from Toothman-Orton, Keith Eisberg of Skydive Idaho, Bill
Hinkle, Hinkle Aviation, and Paul Janes, a possible tenant of
the airport.
The manager's report included: information on the Linden St.
Railroad crossing renovation. A copy of the proposed runway
and taxiway seal coat (airport closure) plan. The fact all
our airport signs have been repaired and repainted. The
possibility that BSU may become a neighbor of the airport.
Other items discussed were:
1. A report from Bill Statham on the status of our Master
Plan Update. He stated that the Boise and Nampa air-
ports are our competitors. We should capitalize on the
business development of the airport. Acquire more
property. Promote more student training and corporate
air traffic. And, probably the most important, get an
ILS (Instrument Landing System) installed.
Also needed is a nea terminal building big enough to
serve our customers.
2. It was asked that the recycling firm renting property
on the airport increase their schedule of removing
their stored material. The manager was instructed to
remind them.
3. After a discussion on parachute jumping on the field,
the manager aas instructed to work with Keith Eisberg
on a compromise regarding the jump zone on the Caldwell
airport.
With no other items to discuss, the meeting adjourned at
1 p.m.
