CO1�IIrtISSION MEETING
JUNE 5th, 1997
Those present for the regular monthly meeting included ,7ack
Pearson, Airport Manager, Commission members Toni Elordi, Dr. Roy
McLaughlin, Garret Nancolas, Phil Fouts and Budd Kehne. Visitors
were Paul Janes, Jay Morris, Bud Hinkle, Don Blecha, George
Eldridge, Jim and Anita Shore, Lee Rice and Dick Graville.
The meeting was called to order by chairman McLaughlin at 12;07.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Items discussed from
the agenda and those introduced were:
1. In regard to selling the city-owned AVID Aircraft building to
AVID, the commission instructed the airport manager to get a
written offer from AVID. It would then be discussed at the next
regular meeting.
2. It was reported that the rehab project was on schedule and
access to hangars should resume on the 20th of June.
3. The airport rules were passed out to commission members for
their comments. When revised, copies will be made available
for tenant inspection and comments.
4. The commission voted to take responsibility for approving
size and appearance of all new private and commercial hangars
being constructed on the airport. The purpose of this is to
prevent future eyesores and waste of airport bare land.
5. The commission approved marquee type signs for both ends of
the airport. A small rental charge will developed to help
maintain signs. The commission will reserve the right to
approve sign design and quality.
6. Garret Nancolas, council laison to the commission, announced
his resignation from the city council in order to run for
another public office. The commission lauded his support of
the airport and wished him well in his new venture.
7. Don Blecha, Nampa commission chairman, commented on the
vandalism they have been experiencing at the Nampa airport.
They are taking steps to limit airport access to protect
planes and property.
The meeting adjourned at 12:53 p.m.
