HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-07-1997 AIRPORT MINUTES Caldwell Industrial Airport Commission Meeting Aug. 7th, 1997 Those present for the regular monthly meeting included: Jack Pearson,airport mgr., Commission members Dean Dishman, Bob Renfro, Tony ELordi, Budd Kehne and Phil Fouts. Dean Dishman was present by phone from Cascade. Others present included Bob Bush, city councilman, Max Barker, Thoville Smith, George Eldridge, Lee Rice, Anita Shore, Brian Corey. Also present were Lt. Col. John M. Bell and Maj. Derek Newlan of the Idaho Air Guard and Bill Statham from Toothman-Orton. Phil Fouts acted as chairman. The meeting was called to order at 12:05 by Phil Fouts. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved and the following items from the agenda and those introduced were: 1. The problem of parking on the ramp and on taxi ways and taxi lanes were discussed. The commission instructed the manager to send a letter to all tenants explaining how parking is allowed on the airport and, if needed, follow up with warning stickers on windshields, etc. 2. The NDB problem was discussed in length and it was determined that a very real safety hazard exhists with Nampa on 122.7 and Caldwell on 122.8. It was decided a committee of at least two people from Nampa should meet with Cadlwell's Lee Rice and Bill Hinkle. Thoville Smith, from Boise, who uses both airports for instument training and check rides will also serve on this committee. The committee will make a recommendation as to a solution. 3. The commission voted to charge $3.00 per month for one sign location and $5.00 for two. Letters to all lease holders were mailed August 8th. 4. After a presentation by Lt.Col. Bell and Maj. Newlan, the commission voted to allow the Air Guard to use the primary taxi way for C-130 landings pending approval by the FAA and recommendations of our engineers, Toothman-Orton. 5. The commission approved the sale of the Bill Hinkle lease to Max Barker, approved the leases for Dick Dickstein and Berto Olson. The meeting was adjourned at 12:55 p.m.
