Re: September 6th commission meeting minutes
Commission members present were Bob McGee, Bob Renfro, Toni Elordi,
Budd Kehne and Phil Fouts. Guests included Br-ian Corey, Tom and
Sally Ballard, Red Hatmaker, Lee Rice, Jim and Anita Shore and
Wayne Pickerill. +
The meeting was called to order by acting chairman Bob McGee at
12:10 p.m. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
Items that were discussed included:
1. A manager's report on the construction in progress. It
was noted that the construction near the SkyStar building
was to be completed prior to their Sep'tember llth, 12th,
13th Fly In. It was also mentioned that the city's new
bookkeeping system would be beneficial to the airport as
we would now be abl� to do better on collections.
2. The manager also reported that we will most likely be able
to seal coat,�he entire existing ramp area prior to its
striping. Seal coating will, in addition to giving the ramp
a much longer life, will also enhance the appearance of the
ramp area.
3. Ter�tinal possibilities are now in the hands of the mayor,
city finance director and city engineer. Direction should
come soon.
4. Tom Ballard was present and stated he was not operating a
flying school out of his private hangar. The issue of signs
of any kind on private hangars will be discussed with the
city's planning and zoning department and addressed at the
next meeting.
5. "Red" Hatmaker addressed the commission regarding his
working on the field. He mentioned several complaints and
would bring them up in April of 1999 when he plans to
return to the area.
The meeting adjourned at 12:55 p.m.
