HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-05-2000 AIRPORT MINUTES � , � Caldwell Indust�ial Ai�po�t 4601 Aviation Way Caldwell, Idaho 83605 Phones 208-459-9779 and 208-880-2059 To: All Airport Commission Members Date: June 1, 2000 From: Curt Hawkins, Airport Manager Re: July 5, 2000 Commission Meeting Those present were: Airport Mgr., Curt Hawkins, Commission Chaiiman: Dr. Roy McLaughlin, commission members: Bob McGee, Phil Fouts and from the Caldwell City Council Mike Gable. Visitors included, from Toothman — Ortin: Rob Schandler, John C. Gray, Jim and Anita Shore and Lee and Doris Rice. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 PM by Dr. Roy McLaughlin. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Items from the agenda and others that were discussed included: 1: Placement of a new terminal building. It was decided to work on getting a new . terminal building first then working on it's placement. 2. Rob Schandler , an engineer from Toothman - Ortin who is the engineering firm for the construction now in progress on the Caldwell airport gave us an update on construction progress and why the delay. The sewer line problem has not yet been ' resolved, however the new Airport V�ay road is going to be paved and should be completed by the end of July, 2000. The asphalting of the new taxiways is complete. 3. We discussed a new airport brochure and the possibility of a college student from Albertson's or NNU to help with the layout. Mike Gable will work with Curt on this project. It is agreed that we need one. 4. Driving vehicles across the ramp continues to be a problem. A polite word form all of us here is suggested. 5. A BBQ for a11 those on and around the airport is planned for late September. If many of us kick in a few bucks it will not be a costly item for any one ir�dividual (you can turn in your donation to the airport manager now). With the donated funds we can furnish the meat and condiments then have everyone bring spud salad, beans and wha�ever else tastes good at a BBQ. 6. Rocks on the ta�ciways and runways continue to be a problem. Mike Gable will ask the fire department to hose the rocks off the asphalt. 7. Adjoununent at 12:38 PM.
