The meeting was called to order at 12:12 PM by Dean Dishman. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Items from the agenda and others that were discussed included: 1. A report on the progress of the current AIP — the problem with the sewer line not being in operation but the road is paved anyway. - the project is complete except a few gate latches — we want to accept FAA funding for the next phase to purchase land, however the FAA is somewhat reluctant as we have not proved that at least 500 times a year aircraft were forced to use airports with longer runways. — Lee rice offered to remove the old skydive building for the privilege of being given the building. Curt will check with Gordon Law about the legality of this. 2. A place to wash aircraft on the airport was discussed. AvJet and Shore & Shore Aviation will allow washing free of charge except in freezing weather. The legality of this was also discussed as there is not a legal sump anywhere on the airport. 3. The September 30, BBQ was discussed. Lee Rice along with Mike Gable will take care of bringing the chairs and tables - Brent Ishida and family will do the BBQing — steak potato, drink and place settings will be fizrnished. A side dish of beans, potato salad or other BBQ friendly dish should be brought by everyone who comes — much discussion about who to invite, we do not want anyone to feel left out. 4. R1, R2 & R3 proposals were discussed again at length. Mike Gable announced that a meeting will take place on Sept. 15 between the Mayor, City Council Members, Gordon Law, John Blaye and Curt Hawkins to start hammering out a proposed noise ordinance. Curt introduced the latest plans for R1 & R3 proposals East of Middleton Road & both North & South of Ustic road. Curt asked for specific direction from the Commission Board as to which ones to allow without us opposing them, but the board thought we needed more information. Most of the board agreed that zoning is the most important aspect of protection. Meeting adjourned 12:53
