ING ORDINANCE NC 550 OF TT70 CITY OF CALD_V�EI * L. AND REPEALING
ORDINANCE NO. 762 OF T'11E' CITY OF CALDVELL, AND PROVIDING FOR 1711TE
REPEAL OF ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN COFFL
HIERE AND PROVIDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE 1Q1AYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDKELL,
CANYON COUNTY, IDAHO:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 550 granting the right and
privilege to the Forward Club of Caldwell, Idaho, to operate and
maintain the municipal swimming pool, be, and the same is hereby,
repealed.
Section 2. That Ordinance 1 762 of the City of Caldwell,
Idaho, establishing the "Caldwell Recreation Board", is hereby
repealed.
Section 3. That there is hereby established and created
a board to be known as the "Caldwell Recreation Board".
Section 4. The Caldwell Recreation Board shall consist of
se members who shall be appointed by the 1. with the con-
sent of the Council, from residents and citizens of the City of
Caldwell, Idaho, and one member of the City Council, who shall be
an ex-officio member of the board.
Section 5. The term of office of the respective members of
such board shall be as follows:
The member appointed from the City Council shall serve for
a period of two years, or until the end of his term as a Council
member, whichever occurs first.
The remaining seven members shall be appointed for a term
of four years, except that those who are appointed as the initial
board members shall serve for a period as follows:
Three members shall be appointed for a term of two years, two
members for a term of three years, and two members for a term of
four years. Thereafter, each appointment shall be for a term of

Section 6. The Board shall meet on or before the first day of
^Iarch of each year and appoint one of its members as chairman, and

one of its members as vice - chairman, who may assume the duties of
the chairman in the event of his absence, and shall also choose
from its number a person who shall serve as secretary of the board.
These persons shall constitute the officers of the board and shall
retain their offices for a term of one year, or until their suc-
cessors have been selected.
Section 7. All vacancies in said board, by reason of removal,
resignation, or death, shall be filled by the Mayor, with the ap-
proval and consent of the Council, for the unexpired term of the
person whose term was so vacated.
Section 8. Any member of the Caldwell Recreation Board may
be removed from office by a Majority vote of the City Council..
Section 9. The Caldwell Recreation Board shall have the
following duties:
a. The planning and conduct of the summer recreation program
of the City of Caldwell, the recommending of personnel to conduct
such program, and the supervision of such program.
b. The operation, maintenance, control and supervision of
the Caldwell Swimming Pool, including recommending the personnel
to operate and manage the same, and the power to establish rules
and regulations, fixing rates and charges, and all other things
as may be necessary to the maintenance and operation of the said
swimming pool.
c. The recreation board shall submit to the Mayor and City
Council, on or before the regular monthly meeting of April of
each year, a recommended program for the year, together with the
Board's recommendations as to personnel to be employed to operate,
manage, or supervise the program.
d. The Board, on or before the regular monthly meeting of
November of each year, shall submit to the Mayor and City Council
a full and complete report of recreation activities carried on by
or under the direction of the Board.
Section 10. All ordinances, or parts of ordinances in conflic
herewith are hereby repealed.

Section 11. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication.
PASSED By the Council this 8th day of December 1958.
APPROVED By the Mayor this 8th day of December 1958.
