AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SPEED LIMITS UPON THE STATE HIGHi'vAYS,
STREETS, AVENUES AND ALLEYS THL C0. LIMITS OF THS CITY
OF' CALDWELL, IDAHO; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDIi
IN CONFLICT HEREJ!VITH; PROVIDING FOR THIS ORDINANCE TO TAKE F 0 RC, F
AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, APPROVAL AND PUBLICATION AND
PROVIDING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Council of the City of
Caldwell, Idaho:
Section 1. No persons shall drive any vehicle excepting
emergency vehicles, within the corporate limits of the City of
Caldwell, Idaho at a greater speed than designated as follows:
a. Upon any street or avenue designated as a highway of
the State of Idaho at such speed as shall be established by the
Highway Board of the Department of highways of the State of Idaho.
b. When passing a school building or grounds thereof,
20 miles per hour.
c. Upon arterial or through streets not designated as
highways of the State of Idaho, 30 miles per hour.
d. On all other streets or alleys, 20 miles per hour.
Section 2. 1 .with reference to Section 1, except Subsectic,
A thereof, if the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho shall
determine that any prima facie speed hereinbefore set forth is Brea ei
or less than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to
exist upon any street, avenue or alley within the City of Caldwell,�
Idaho, the Council, by resolution, may declare a reasonable and
safe prima facie speed limit thereupon, which shall be effective
at all times after posting by appropriate speed limit signs.
Section 3. Any violation of Sections I and 2 of this
ordinance shall constitute a misdemeanor and any person so vio-
lating said sections shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined not to exceed X100.00.

Section 4. That all ordinances or
parts of ordinances

in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.

Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect from and

publication.
