HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 7623� 01� (y�U 1 2 .. 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 BILL NO. 13 ORDINANCE NU. 762 By COUNCILMAN BURRELL AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A MUNICIPAL RECREATION BOARD TO BE KNOWN AS THE "CALDWELL RECREATION BOARD ", WHICH WILL PLAN, RECOMMEND PERSONNEL, AND SUPERVISE THE CITY OF CALDWELL SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAM EACH YEAR, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE _MAYOR _AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL. Be it ordained and established by the Mayor and Counci 10 of the City of Caldwell, Idaho: 11 Section 1. That there is hereby established a board 12 to be known as the "Caldwell Recreation Board ", consisting of five 13 members who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the 14 Council from the citizens of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, one of 15 which members shall be a member of the City Council. 16 Section 2. That the duties of this board shall be the 17 planning of the summer recreation program of the City of Caldwell, 18 the recommending of personnel to conduct such program, and the 19 supervision of the program itself. 20 Section 3. That the summer recreation program of the 21 City of Caldwell as planned by the board, together with the per - 22 sonnel recommended to conduct such program, shall be submitted to thi 23 Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, for approval on or be- 24 fore the regular monthly meeting of April in each year. 25 Section 4. That the term of the respective members 26 of such board so appointed, shall be as follows: The member appoint. 27 ed from the City Council shall serve for a period of two years or 28 until the end of his term as a Council member. The remaining four 29 members shall be appointed for a period of four years except that 30 those who are appointed for the first time shall serve for a period 31 as follows: One member shall be appointed for a period of one year; 32 one member for a period of two years; one member for a period of 1 2 • • / V 0 o4� Am dd fll three years; and one member for a period of four years from the date of their appointment. 3 Section �. The board shall meet on the first day of 4 March of each year and appoint one of its number as Chairman, and 5 one of its number as Vice - Chairman, who may assume the duties of 6 the Chairman in the event of his absence and shall also choose 7 -from its number a person who shall serve as secretary of said board. 8 These persons shall constitute the officers of the board and shall 9 retain their offices for a term of one year, or until their suc- 10 cessors have been selected. 11 Section b. All vacancies in said board by reason of 12 removal, resignation or death shall be reported to the Mayor and 13 Council, and such vacancy shall be filled as appointments were or- 14 iginally made for the unexpired term for the person whose term was 15 vacated by reason of removal, resignation or death. 16 Section °7. That any member of the recreation board 17 may be removed from office by a majority vote of the City Council 18 without cause. 19 Section "S.
