Section 1. That Section '1- 229-of the Caldwell Code of
1942, as previously amended by Ordinance No. 627, Ordinance No.
040, and Ordinance No. 694 of 'the' City of Caldwell, Idaho, in
order to conform with Section

1932 official edition, be and the same is hereby ,amended to
read as follows:
91 1 -229. Police Vine, apEointment Salary 'T'he Mayor
of the City ®f Caldwell shall, with the approval of the
Council, at the time of his taking office, appoint some
suitable person as Police Judge of the City of Caldwell
who shall qualify as such Police Judge by f iling; the usual
oath of officers required by the Statute of a ll public
officers, filing a bond in the sum o£ 41,000.00, for the
faithful performance of his duties and who shall receive
as compensation: for his services as such Police Judge the
sura of 4 per month, payable out of the general expense
fund of the City Treasury of the City of Caldwrell.in the
same manner as all other, claims against the City are paid,
provided; that in the absence or incapacity of such Police
Judge and ,there be a substitute appointed auring ab-
sence or incapacity as provided by the Statute of the State
of Idaho, the salary of such Police Judge accruing during
such absence or incapacity shall be paid to the person who
is designated under the Statute of the State of Idaho to
act as such Police,Jud4,e of the City of Caldwell during the
absence .or incapacity of the duly appointed, qualified and
acting Police' Judge as hereinabeve provided."
Section 2. That the compensation change for Police
Jude as provided in this Ordinance shall become effective re-
troactively as of the 1st day. of May, 1947
