BY CGTJNCILMAN ®L Es�� AN ORDIhAsCE AXLLiDIs�G ;aECTIOA 1 -601 of the CALgWELL CODE OF 1942 B�: CRBATINu THE POSITIONS OF "CHIEF OF DETECTIVES ", "DESK SERGEANT (DAY) B', AND "DESK 81;RGEANT (SIGHT)" IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF CAU)6ELL, IDAHO; FU ffifER AldENDING SECTION 1 -602 OF THE CALDVdELL CODE OF 1942 AS A MAIDED BY ORDINANCES NOS. 627, 637, 670 AAD 688 OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO, BY PROVIDING COMPENSATION TO BE PAID THE "CHIEF OF DETECTIVES AS AN OFFICER AND MEMBER OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF CALDVVELL, IDAHO; PROVIDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE FOR THIS ORDINANCE: AND PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT .HEREWITH; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CA=WELL, IDMO: Section 1. That Section 1 -601 of the Caldwell Code of 1942 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "1 -601. Police Department Created, Personnel. -- There is hereby established a police department in the City of Caldwell,• Idaho, which shall consist of a Chief of Police, Chief of Detectives, one day Captain of police, one night Captain of police, one desk sergeant (day), one desk sergeant (night), one motorcycle policeman and such patrolmen as the needs of the department shall require." Section 2. That Section 1-602 of the Caldwell Code of 1942 as amended by Ordinance No. 627, Ordinance No. 637, Ordinance No. 670 and by 0- rdinance No. 688, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "l -602. Compensation of Officers and members. - The compensa- tion of the officers and members of the police department of the City of Caldwell shall be as follows: Chief of Police - - - - - - - - - - - 260.00 per month Chief of Detectives - - _ - _ - - _ _ 215.00 per month Captain of Police (day Captain) - - - 220.00 per month Captain of Police (night Captain) - - 230.00 per month Desk Sergeant (day) - - - - - - - - - 190.00 per month Desk Sergeant (night) - - - - - - - - 200.00 1 180,00 per month Patrolmen of Police Department- - - - 2UO.00 per month Patrolman and Pound Master- - - - - - per month W -1- ti • n It2rovided that the compensation of Patrolmen shall be increased at the rate of 45.00 per month each year for continuous ser- vice after the first year for a period of three years, so that beginning with the second year of said service, such compensa- tion shall be the sum of 0205.00 per month and beginning with the third year of said service such compensation shall be the sum of 0210,.00 per month, and beginning with the fourth year of such service and thereafter such compensation shall be the sum of $215.00 per month; provided that in calculating the monthly increases of $5.00 per month for patrolmen for con- tinuous service during the second, third and fourth years of their continuous employment, the actual date of their entering the employment of the City of Caldwell as patrolmen shall be the irate from and after which such schedule shall be calculated. "Provided further that there is hereby created the combined office of Patrolman and Pound blaster, and that the salary of the officer occupying that position shall be '4180.00 per month; and that such office shall not be included in the schedule of monthly salary increases as herein provided for patrolmen." Section 3. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in force and shall take effect from and after its passage, approval and publication. PASSED By the Council this 16th day of December, 1946.
