11-104 CAIDWELL CODE OF 1942 PERTAINING TO SALARY AND LIVING
QUARTERS OF THE SEXTON OF THE CEXETERY OF THP' CITY OF CALD!TMT-,
IDAHO. PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATF; FOR THE'' GOING INTO EFFECT OF
THIS ORDINANCE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE EAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF TIM CITY
OF CALMML, IDAHO:
Section 1. That Section 1-227 of Caldwell Code of 1942 be
and the - same hereby is amended to read as follows:
"1 -227. Salary, Certain officers. - The salary of the
following city officers, shall be as follows:
City Treasurer - - - - - - - - - - - - 165.00 per month.
Deputy City Clerk - - - - - - - - - 135.00 per month.
City Engineer - - - - - - - - - - - 231.00 per month.
Assistant to the City Engineer - - - 173.25 per month.
I'leat Inspector - - - - - - - - - - - 50.00 per month."
Section 2. That Section 1-229 of Caldwell Code 'of 1942
shall be and the same hereby is anended to read as follows:
11 1-229. Police Judge, Appointment, Salary.--The !1ayor
of the Cit of Caldwell shall, with the approval Of the
Council, at the time Of his taking office, appoint some
suitable person as Police Judge Of the City of Caldwell
w1io shall qualify as such Police Judge by filing the
u sual oath of officers required by the statute of all pub-

lic officers, filing a bond In the sum o f . 1,00o.00, for ;?

the faithful performance of his duties and who shall re-
ceive as compensation for his services as such Police
Judge the suns of � "550.00 per month, payable out of the
general expense fund in the City Treasury of the City
of Caldwell in the same manner as all other claims against
the City are paid, PROVIDFT), that in the absence or incap-
acity of such Police Judge and there be a substitute ap-
pointed during such absence or incapacity as provided by
the Statute of the State of Idaho, the salary of such Po-
lice Judge accruing during, such absence or incapacity shall
be paid to the person who is designated under the Statute
of the State of Idaho to act as such Police Judge of the
City of Caldwell during the absence or incapacity of the
duly appointed, qualified and acting Police Judge as
hereinabove provided."
Section 3 . That Section 1 -602 of Caldwell Code of 1942, be
and the same hereby is amended to read as follows:
11 1 -602. Compensation of Officers and Members.- -The com-
pensation of the officers and members of the police de-
partment of the City of Caldwell shall be as follows:
Chief of Police - - - - - - - - - - - - ,194.25 per month
Captain of Police (Day Captain) - - - - ;;162.75 per month
captain of Police (Night Captain) - - - �`,172.75 per month
Patrolmen of the Police Department''- - $132.75 per month
Patrolman end Pound. master -- - - - - fU41.75 per month
provided that the compensation of the patrolmen shall be in-
creased at the rate of Ten( 'p10.00) dollars per month each year
for continuous service after the first year, for a period of
three years, so that beginning with the second year of said ser-
vice such compensation shall be the sum of One Hundred Forty -two

and 75100 Dollars (;'J142.75) per month and beginning with the
third year of such service such corpensation for'said service
shall be the sum of One Hundred Fifty -two and 75100 Dollars
(i152.75) per month and beginnin with theme year and there-
after such compensation for said service shall be the sum of
One Hundred Sixty -two and 75/100 Dollars (f;162.75) per month.
Provided however, that the monthly salary of patrolmen
now employed by the City of Caldwell is to be the sum of
One Hundred Sixty -two and 75100 Dollars ;162.75) per month
and that the salary of patrolmen . hereafter employed by the
City of Caldwell, after the passage and approval of this or-
dinance shall begin with the base pay of One Hundred Thirty -
two and 75/1.00 Dollars ("- ,132.75) and shall be increased on the
above schedule of Ten Dollars (y�10.00) per month in the second,
third and fourth years of continuous service as above provided.
Provided further, that there is hereby created the com
bined office of patrolman and pound master and that the salary
of the officer occupying the office of patrolman and pound
master shall be One Hundred Forty -one and 75100 Dollars
(0141.75) per month and that such office shall not be included
in the schedule of monthly salary increase for continuous ser
vice above provided for patrolmen.
Section 4 . That Section 1 -810 of Caldwell Code of
1942 be and the same hereby is amended to read as follows:
°T1 -810. Salary of Officers and Employees.- -The com-
pensation of the officers, members, and employees of
the Fire Department shall be as follows:
Chief of the Fire Department - - - V2$0.00 per month
Captain of the Fire Department - - - 178.50 per month
Lieutenant of the fire Department- 173.25 per month
Hosemen of the Fire Department - - - X 147.00 per month

provided that the compensation of the hose men shall be in-
creased at the rate of Five Dollars (¢0.00) per month each
year for continuous service after the first year for a period
of three years, so that beginning with the second year of said
service such compensation shall be the sum of One Hundred Fifty-
two : $152.00) per month and beginning* with the third
year of such service such compensation for said service shall
be the sum of One Hundred Fifty-seven Dollars (p157.00) per
month and beginning with the fourth year and thereafter, such
compensation for said service shall be the sum of One Hundred
Sixty -two Dollars (,"„;162.00) per month. Provided that in cal-
culating the monthly increases of Five Dollars (,95.00) per
month for hose men for continuous service during the second,
third and fourth years of their continuous employment the actual
date of their beginning employment shall be the date from and
after which such schedule shall be calculated.
Call men when answering fire calls shall receive two
and fifty hundredths 02.50) dollars for responding to call
when called by the officer in charge of the department and
one ($1.00) dollar per hour or fractional part thereof for
time spent in working when called.
If the Mayor and Council shall so require the Chief
of the Fire Department shall maintain I residence in rooms
provided for that purpose in the-City Hall, said room to be
furnished by the city with lights, heat, water and electri-
cal energy.
Section 5. That Section 11 -104 of Caldwell Code of
1942 be and the same hereby is amended to read as follows;
"11104. Salary of Sexton; Living Quarters.- -The
salary of the Sexton of the Cemetery of the City of
Caldwell, Idaho, shall be One Hundred Seventy -eight
and 50 /100 Dollars 0;')178.50) per month payable monthly.

The above salary shall be full compensation for all services
performed by him as such Sexton. Provided, that if the Mayor
and Council so order the Sexton may be given the privilege of
living in the residence on the cemetery ground.
Section 6 . All salary or compensation changes as provi-
ded in this ordinance shall be in effect as of and from the
let day of July, 1943.
Section 7. That all ordinances or.parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section B . This ordinance shall be in force and shall
take effect from and after its passage, approval and publication.
