Be it ordained by the Mayor and Council of the City of Cald- well, Idaho; Section 1. That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 91 be and. the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 8. Rule 1. applications for permits for making con- nections .vith the City crater mains must be made by the owner of the premises, or his duly authorized aSent, with which such connections are to be ?made, upon printed form at the office of the superintendent of ;later ;forks, and such applications shall contain a full, - true and accurate statement of the size of the connection_, the manner of connectin;, the point at , vhich connection is to be made, and a des- cription of all the premises with , such connection is to be made, toEether Frith the full name or names of all the owners thereof, and such. further facts as raay be useful in the manan of said system, ar_d applications for permits for the introduction of water into any connection vrith tk.e City :'later h1ains, must be made on printed form for that purpose, and filed at the office of the Super- intendent of !rater ' :forks by the oavner of the premises or his duly authorized agent vvith which such connections are made, and such ap- plication shall contain a full, true and accurate statement of the approximate quantity, and of the uses and purposes for ,vhich such water is obtained, and a description of all the premises upon , vhich said viater is to be used and the gull name or names of all the owners thereof, and an a_ on the part of such oavner or owners to -1- conform to all the `rules and regulations provided for said water works 'sys'tera and that the charge therefor, as Jyell as for the use of all water, shall be a lien upon the premises upon which said water is used, and with which said connections are made as a condition for the use of such - vvater, and if said application is made by an agent said agent shall deposit °arith the Superintendent Of Vater ftorks the authority of the owner or owners of said. premises, authorizing the said applicant, as the Owner's agent, to make such application, and no connection with the City water riTain shall be made, and. no grater' shall be introduced into any con - nection heretofore or hereafter made therewith, unless a permit has been first issued. by the Superintendent of eater ', in compliance and conformity with this rule and, with the rules and regulations that are now or may hereafter be established therefor. Rule 2. No.. person_ supplied with water from the city mains will be entitled to use it for any other purpose than those stated in his permit, nor to supply in anyway other persons or families. Rule 3. Should it be desired to discontinue the use of all grater supp3i6d to the premises for a period not less than one month, notice in ;writing must be ;given, and payment in full of all arrearaSe (if any there be) made at the office of the Superintendent of .Mater °Torks. The water rill be turned off and turned on again without charge; but no remission of rent will be made for a period of less than one month, or without the notice prescribed by this nile. Rule 4. Hereafter the service pipes must be so arranged that the supply to each separate house or premises may be controlled by a separate stopcock placed +;rithin and near the line of the street curb and one person must pay for all the rater used through said service for his own use or for the use of others to whom it may be accessible. -2- Fule,5. No plumber or other person will be all4ed to make connection with the city mains or to make alterations in any cond-nit, pipe or other fixture connecting ther=ewith, or to connect pipes when they have been disconnected, or to turn water off or on any premises without the permission from the Superintendent of the 'Jater •forks. Plumbers failing to perform their work according to the established rules and regulations or executing it unskillfully, or to the damage of the city water may be debarred from m9kinr, connection with the city main. Rule 12. Rule 13. On failure to comply with the rules and re-ulations established as a condition to the use of vater or to pay the water rents in the ti ?e and marner hereinafter provided the , rater ,nay lbo shut off until payment is made of the amount due, with fifty cents in addition for the expense of turning the water off and on. Rule 14. All hose shall be shut off ,, rheni the alarm of fire is sounded and shall- -remain shut off until the fire is extinguished. Rule 15. The city reserves the right to apply a meter to any service pipe y!hon'they deem it advisable, at the expense of the con- sumer, and to be located as 'the Superintendent may direct. Rule 16. It is expressly understood and agreed that the City of Caldwell shall not be liable under any circumstances for a defic- iency or a failure in the sup ofiiiater, :whether by the shutting off of - u-iaters to make repairs or connections or for any cause whatso- ever, and no deduction grill, be made therefor. Rule 17. No stopcock, valve, Soosemeck, or other hose connection vaill be alloviFed above the sidearalk in any public place. Rule 18. '. , Water will be cut off from the premises when occupants or owners allow it to run to : waste and vrill not be turned on again until waste is stopped and a charge of fifty cents paid for turning on the water. sedtion I of Section 2. That Section 9 of Ordinance No. 91 and/Ordinance No. 528 and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3.
