PROVIDIIIG FOR A TAX LEVY FOR HAINTENANCE OF THE PUBLIC
LIBRARY OF THE CITY OF CALD"IELL AMID AMENDING SECTION 5
OF ORDINANCE NO. 227 TO PROVIDE FOR AN ANNUAL APPROP-
RIATION FOR MAINTENANCE FOR SUCH LIBRARY.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Council of the city of
Caldwell, Idaho:
Section 1. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 227 be amended
to read as follows:
Section 4. The ®ouncil shall annually levy and cause to be
collected as other taxes are collected a tax slhich shall not exceed
the maximum provided by Section 32 - -2101 of the Idaho Code Annotated
-, which tax shall be upon all the taxable property within the corporate
limits of the city of Caldwel7L, to constitute a library fund . whi6h
shall be kept by the city treasurer separate and apart from other
moneys of said city and be used exclusively for the purchase of
necessary books, periodicals, furniture and fixtures of said public
library and reading room and for whatever is necessary for the
maintenance of the same.
Section 2. That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 227 be amended to
read as follows:
Section 5. The council shall annually at the time provided for
making the annual appropriation bill make an appropriation for the
maintenance of the public library and readinv room which shall be not
less than One Thousand Two Hundred Fifty (';1,250.00) dollars per annum
and which appropriation shall not exceed the maximum as provided in
Section 32 - -2101 of the Idaho Code Annotated for the maintenance of
said public library.

Section 3. That this ordinance will be in fill], force and effect
from and after its passa -e and a and publication in book form
as r.°rovid.ed in Ordinance No. 591.
