HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 592(2)AN ORDINANCE MIENDING SECTION I OF ORDINANCE NO. 164 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF CALD�17ELL, 1915, PROVIDING FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF THE POLICE DEP- OF THE CITY OF CALD, IDAHO, AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION TO PROVIDE FOR THE COMPENSATION OF THE OFFICERS AND ME11FERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT bF THE CITY OF GaLD- WELL;' IDAHO. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho: Section 1. That Section I of Ordinance No. 164 of the revised ordinances of Caldwell, 1915, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1. There is hereby established a police department in the city of Caldwell, Idaho, which shall consist of a chief of police, one day captain of police, one night captain of police, one motorcycle policeman and such patrolmen as the needs of the department shall require. Section 2. That the compensation of the officers and members of the police department of the city of Caldwell shall be as follows: Ohief of police ------------------------- 0150.00 per month' Captain of police (day and night) ------- 140.00 per month Motorcycle policeman -------------- - - - - -- 140.00 per month Patrolmen of the police department - - - - -- 110.00 per month provided that the compensation of the patrolmen shall be increased at the rate of ten (10.00) dollars per month each year for continuous service after the first year, for a period of three years, so that beginning with the second year of said service such compensation shall be the sum of one-hundred twenty ($120.00) dollars per month and. be- sinning Kith the third year of such service such compensation for I said service shall be the sun, of one hundred thirty (130.00) dollars per month and beginning with the fourth year and thereafter such compere— sation for said service shall be the sum of one hundred forty ($140.60) dollars per month. Provided, however, that the salary of patrolmen as above estab- lished is to apply to patrolmen employed. after the passa, e and approval of this ordinance. The salary of the one patrolman now employed when this ordinance is passed and api shall be one hundred forty ( dollars per month. Section 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 4. This ordinance will be in full force and affect from and after Its passa3e and approval and publication in bool-, form as provided in Ordinance Fo. 591. PASSE BY THE COUNCIL, this v�& day of 1942.
