AN ORDINANCE FORBIDDING SOLICI'T'ORS, PEDDLERS,
HAWKERS, ITINERANT MERCHANTS AND TRANSIENT
VENDORS OF MERCHANDIS.ks FROM TRESPASSING IN AND
UPON PRIVATE RESIDENCES:VIHEN UNINVITED SO TO DO
BY THE OWNERS AND OCCUPANTS OF' SAID PRIVATE RESI-
DENCES, IN SOLICITING AND ATTEAPTING TO SOLICIT
ORDERS, OR IN SELLING AND EXPOSING FOR SALE WARES
AND MERCHANDISE, AND DECLARING SUCH SOLICITING TO
BE A NUISANCE, AND DIRECTING THE POLICE AUTHORI-
TIES TO ABATE SUCH NUISANCES, FIXING THE PENALTY
FOR COMMITTING SUCH NUISANCES, AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL,
CANYON COUNTY, IDAHO:

The practice of going in and upon private residences in
the City of Caldwell, Idaho, by solicitors, peddlers, hawkers,
iterant merchants and transient vendors of merchandise, not

having been requested or invited so to do by the owner or owners
occupant or occupants of said private residences, for the pur-
pose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares and mer-
chandise, and /or for the purpose of disposing of and /or pedd-
ling or hawking the same, is hereby declared to be a nuisance,

and punishable as such nuisance as a misdemeanor.

Section 2.
The Chief of Police, and the police force of the City of
Caldwell, are hereby required and directed to suppress the same,
and to abate any such nuisance as is described in the first sec-
tion of this ordinance.
Section 3.
Any person convicted of perpetrating a nuisance as descri-
bed and prohibited in the first section of this ordinance, upon
conviction thereof, shall be fined a sum of not less than Twenty -
five Dollars (425.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)
together with costs of proceedings, and upon failure to pay such
fine, shall be imprisoned in the City Jail until such fine is
satisfied, in proportion of one day's imprisonment for each Two
Dollars (02.00) of such fine.
Section 4.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this
ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5.
This ordinance shall go into force and effect upon its
passage, approval, and publication.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Caldwell, Idaho,
