Section 1. There is hereby organized a fire dept. for the " purpos of protecting property, and the lives of the citizens of the 'city of Calr,rif 11, Idaho. , E•'UI7� ENT Section 2. The eQuipmen.t of the fire dept. of the City of Caldwell, Idaho stall consist of the apparatus now owned by the said city of Caldwell, and that which may hdreafter be purchasedi bar the city and all other things that are novi used, and have been used in connection urith the fire de? The chief of t` - :e fire dept, shall not engage in any other business or en, to +rment, but shall devote all his tiie to the service of the department and it shall be his duty at all times except as other ,.Ise r`rovided for in section 7, to be ready avithout delay to take charge of the dept. aand assume tha manage ,- dent thereof. v � REPORTS.'i It` shall be the duty of the chief of the fire dept. to make out and submit semi -- annual: reports to the Mayor and Council - of the condition of the dept and all matters of interest relating thereto. ire shall also report number of fires that have taken place during ,the p=est six months, giving the location. of, date of and other oar - ticulars of such fires. He shall incorporate in said reports such sug-esticns in regard to the government of the fire - dept. and the efficiency thereof as may in his judgement seem proper and necessary. r,fter each fire the chief shall .na..ke prompt and thorough investigation of the cause of the fire, the amount of loss, and insurance car,Aa d, 0 time of breaking out, description of the building and all necessary particulars and record the same in the record book kept for that purpose in the dept. DUTIrsS of Asst. ENgineer. Section 5. It shall be the d,ity of the assistant engineer and any other regular employed member of the fire dept. receiving a regular monthly salary to devote all his time except that provided for in Section 7, to the performance of his duties. OFFICrRS and EMPLOYEES GENERALLY. Section 6. It shall be the duty of the other officers and employees of the fire dept. to attend to the duties of their respect- ive positions, inder the orders of the chief of the fire dept,, or in case of his absence or inability to serve, the assistant chief of the dept. or in case of 't.h­� absence or inability of both of them to serve, then. of the captain of the fire; dept. They shall strictly carry out all set out, and shall at all times be under management of the chief of the fire dept. the place of said chief, by reason of the chief. T I?k u. If any man when serving as a fireman and when acting by order of the chief or actin; chief of the fire dept., be injured as a result of his fighting fires - � , ,ithin the city of Caldwell, said city shall pay a reasonable doctor kill, not to exceed y50. and should death occur as a result of his Bighting fires in this city, the city of Cald -,Fell shall pay the funeral expenses, not ob exceed the sum of 75.00 INCIDENTAL EX7 .NSES . Section 9. The city of "aldwall shall pay all reasonable expenses of the fire dept., such as cost of beds and bedding for the sleeping dept:, and the cost of laundrying of said bedding and all other incident- al expenses of like nature. . '.ihen an alarm of fire is given all persons oc- cupying the public streets rrith automobiles, wagons and teams or vehicles of any description between the fire .station and the]ocation of the fire, shall yield the right of way on said streets to the nov- able apparatus of the fire dept., -when going to such fire, and any such person or persons who shall during any fire interfere with or obstruct the vork of the firemen or handle any of the imple- ments or apparatus'of the fire dept., except upon invitation of the chief, or by his permitgion, shall, be deemed }Puilty of a misdemeanor and upon_conviction' thereof shal , fined'in any sum not to exceed 100. IMP }'DING IXORK OF FIREMEN. Section 11. Any person or persons not officers of the city of Caldwe 1, or acting firemen of the city of Caldwell, or any persono not Interested.as owmer, or owners, or employees of the owner or owners, in the property and goods'at the location of any fire, who shall occupy the grounds within 50 ft. of the fire, or impede the work of the firemen, or blocade the way to, from or around any fire shall be deemed_ guilty of a misdemeanor,- and upon co.niliction thereof shall be fined any sum not exceeding x'100. The chief of the fire dept. shall receivec'a salary of ;�'90. per month to be paid. monthly ant'. in addition shall be furnished living rooms, The employees of the fire dept. excepting the chief and the call men receive a salary of �h75. per month to be paid monthly and shall receive an increase of i�5.00 per month after six month's service in the dept. from and after 1iay 7, 1917, and a lil�h increase each six months thereafter of continuous service, until a maximum increase of ti "15. per month has be.;n reached. Thhe employees of the fire dept. who are known as call men shall receive ;,1.00 for each fire attended, and in ca„sOff seriol ,s�fire shall be paid after the first hour 50� h per our,^ n a p e rso s whom the chief may employ at fires, other than regular call men eb.all receive a like compensation.
