If any portion of this ordinance is declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect and shall be read to carry out the purposes of the ordinance before the declaration of partial invalidity. Section 1: Repeals Section 10-02-06 in its entirety. Section 2. Enacts a new Section 10-02-06 as follows: (1) Describes the purpose and objectives of adopted sign regulations to promote a healthy economy, encourage an attractive visual environment, to insure public safety, provide necessary, yet reasonable signage and removal of non-conforming signs. (2) Sets forth general provisions regarding proper location of signs, signs for home occupations and business and dwelling units, deviation from standards by conditional use permit, sign height, landscaping, sign size and undeveloped property for sale signs. (3) Describes types of signs that are and regulations exempted. (4) Describes types of signs that are prohibited. (5) Provides a sign schedule that regulates sign dimensional and location by zoning district. (6) Describes standards for height, area, setbacks, wall signage, and illumination of signs. (7) Describes standards for nonconforming signs. (8) Sets forth procedures for the removal of abandoned signs. (9) Provides standards and regulations for temporary signage. (10) Provides a procedure for obtaining sign permits. (11) Sets forth new definitions. Section 3: Provides that this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication, according to law. <4f;. Section 4: Provides for severability. Section 5: Repeals conflicting ordinances,resolutions and orders.
