At least ten and not more than twenty days before each general and special* election the Yayor dhall issue an election procl, containing a statement of the time of election, offices to be filled the nerves and descriptions of the several wards, tao time during which registration therefor ,yL7 be made and cause the stajne to be puI, in the manner' provided for the publication of the ordinances of the city. Section 2. The city clerk shall register electors for general and specia 1 1 elections at any time during office hours, the samle as is provided. by law for registration for state and county C .L ele Uions. The city clerk in addition to other duties required of hi p aing du in connectuton with sh all p all the corresponk the city elections and registrations as are, required by lavr to be performed by tl,-,-- clerk of the dikrict court for state and county registra for elections. The city clerl sh,---ll provide at the the city, registration books, blank electors oaths and all other necessary election supplies. -2- For the purpose of compiling the list of voters of - the several ,yards, just prior to any election, the -city council may in its discretion, employ assistance for the clerk to perform such duty. V.1henever the necessity therefor4 shall exist, the city council, may in its dis- registrar cretion appoint a deputy = qgtxt= for each ward of the city to registrar assist the city clerk, and each deputy Z so appointed shall registrar have the right to perform his duties as Mer, in any portion of the city. Such deputy registrars shall be a ,ppoifited not more than thirty days preceeding any city election. Compensation of deputy registrars so appointed shall f_M=tkB be. the sum of t en cents for each name,,,registered. Section 3. The council sh.,qll at its regular meeting in, February prior to each general xLm*±m±xx election, and at least I forty days before each special election, appoint four qualified -electors of each ward� three of which shall a6t as judges of the election and one distributing clerk of said election in each vvrard. The selection of such officers' must as nearly as practicable represent all the different political parties of the city. Yotice of their- appointment shall be given t`6 the appointees by the City Clerk. The'council shall designate I suitable polling places and shall cause the some to be pr6vided with voting compartments, supplies, official stamps, ballot bo:xces, and. such other supplies as county commissioners are required to provide for state elections..Judges and clerks of election shall receive two dollars per day for thoir services. ra — . Section 4. Certificates of nomination of candidates for municipal offices shall be filed with the clerk not more than thirty days nor, less than ten days previous to the day of -election. Section 5. The clerk shall provide and deliver to the ju(lrP -s of election each ward, before the opening of the polhe suitable ballots, instruction cards, ticket stamps and sample tickets as provided by the law in State elections, and shall. in all other duties relating to the city elections perform the same duties as is by law imposed upon the county auditor in State elections. Ordinance No. 163, passed T.Tay 16, 1910 and approved ,:jay 17, 1910 and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
