An ordinance providing for a license to be paid by the owner or
keeper of every stage coach,hack
wagon or other vehicle which shall be used for the conveyance of
packagss,gouds or freight place to place within the city for hire,
and providift a penalty for the violation thereof. � 2°
Section 1, The owner or keeper of every stage coach
carriage,dray,truck,automobile or other vehiclepwhich shall be
used for the conveyance of packages,goQds or freiSht,from place to
place within the city for hire (except hand carts and vehicles used
by merchante,dealers and manfacturep`exclusively for the free delivery
in advance
of their wares to their customers ) shall pay an annual license of
twenty five 025.00) dollars 1zxzAxzz= for the first vehicle and
three 03,00) dollars for each AR*a*AL-ng vehicle. The owner or driver
of vehicles conveying merchandise anything as above mentioned,shall
place the number of his vehicle,as named in his license,upon each
side of his vehicle zx21zMX= in a conspicuous place.
Section 2. Licenses shall be procured and issued in the same
manner as is provided in Ordinance No.111 of the City of Caldwell,
Idaho.
• Section 3, It shall be the duty of the chief of police and other
police officers of Caldwell to see that the provisions of the ordinance
are strictly complied with,and they shall make complaint before the
city magistrate against any person failing to comply with the same.
Section 4. Any person,firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding
one hundred dollars.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect from
and upon its pasBage,approval and publication.
