AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 11 AND 12

ORDINANCE NO. 122, OF THE CITY OF CALDINELL,
RELATING TO MEMBERSHIP IN FIRE DEPARTMENT AND
RS .
COMPENSATION OF MEMBERS.
Be it Ordained by the Mayor and Council of
the City of Caldwell:
Section 1. That Section 11 of Ordinance No.
122, of the City of Caldwell, be,and the same is

he -eby amended to read as follows:
Section 11. The chief shall receive as compensation

the sum of $2;:00 per month, after his report has been
approved by the ciLy council; the assistant chief shall
receive $1.50 per month; the foreman of each company
shall receive 75 cents for each drill, and each member
in good standing shall receive as compensation at the
end of each half year, the sum of fifty cents for each
drill attended, paid drills not to exceed two each
month, and $1.00 for each. fire attended. In case
of serious fire, after the first hour, each member
shall be paid 35 cents per hour. Provided,No member
shall receive any compensation until he shall have
been a member of the department six months, and no
member shall be considered in good standing who is
absent from the drills of the company of which he is
a member for two months, unless on account of sickness
he is excused by the foreman, and members who are
absent for a period of six months duration without
such excuse shall cease to be members of the department.
In addition each member shall be exempt from road poll tax.
Section 2. That Section 12 of Ordinance No.
122, of the City of Caldwell, be, and the same is
hereby amended fro read as follows;
Section 1 Any member of the department who
has faithfully served the city as fireman for a
period of ten years shall become at his option a
veteran fireman, and shall be entitled to all the
exemptions thereof, and when acting as a Fireman
shall receive the same compensation as regular
Firemen. Fie shall be furnished by the city with
a certificate and badge showing that he is a
veteran Fireman.
