HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2078( 0 (a BILL NO. 14 ORDINANCE NO. 2o7s AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 10, ARTICLE 2, SECTION 6, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF IDAHO, PERTAINING TO INSTALLATION CRITERIA, SETBACK REQUIREMENTS AND ILLUMINATION STANDARDS FOR SIGNS WITHIN THE R -3 (MULTI - FAMILY HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL) ZONING DISTRICT: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES RESOLUTIONS, ORDERS, AND PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho: SECTION 1. That Chapter 10, Article 2, Section 6, of the Municipal Code of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho, shall be amended by adding or deleting certain language as follows: R -3 One name plate or home occupation sign for each dwelling unit. The sign shall not exceed more than 2 square feet of area and shall be unlighted and attached flush to the building. One temporary sign advertising the sale, lease or rental of the property on which it is located. The sign shall not exceed more than 32 square feet of area and shall not be illuminated either internally or externally One temporary sign advertising the sale, rental, lease of vacant land or a subdivision. The sign shall not be more than 32 square feet in area and shall not be illuminated either internally or externally, and shall be set back at least 30 20 feet from property lines. A sign identifying a rooming boarding house, multi - family dwelling complex, convalescent, nursing or rest home is permitted. The sign shall not be more than 24 square feet in area and shall not be illuminated either internally or externally_ A sign identifying a special use is permitted. The sign shall not be more than 32 square feet in area and shall net be illafriineAed and shall be set baek at least 10 fieet ftefa pf-epe lines A sign identif3dng a special use can be illuminated provided the sign satisfies the following requirements: a) the sign shall be internally illuminated: b the sign shall not exceed 24 square feet in area: c) the sign shall be located along a collector or arterial roadway as designated on the Major Thoroughfare System Map of the Transportation Component of the Comprehensive Plan. d) the sign shall not be animated, that is, flash, blink, move, change color or perform any similar function. No sign shall be placed within or project over any easement, public right -of -way, vision trianpJe. or future right -of -way as determined by the Planning and Zoning Director or City Engineer. SECTION 2. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
