HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 19790 f BILL NO. 4 ORDINANCE NO. 1979 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, STATE OF IDAHO, BY DELETING AND ADDING CERTAIN LANGUAGE IN TITLE XI, CHAPTER 14, PERTAINING TO BICYLES BY REPEALING SECTIONS 11 -14 -2 THROUGH 11 -14 -8 REGARDING LICENSE REQUIRED; APPLICATION; ISSUANCE, ATTACHMENT OF LICENSE PLATE; INSPECTION; AND TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP AND ADDING NEW SECTIONS 11 -14 -2 THROUGH 11 -14 -8 REGARDING REGISTRATION OF BICYCLE; APPLICATION /REGISTRATION; ISSUANCE; INSPECTION; TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP AND RENTAL AGENCIES: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS, ORDER OR PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF IDAHO: Section 1. That Section 2 of Chapter 14, Title XI be repealed and a new Section 2 be added as follows: _• _ _ - - 11 -14 -2: REGISTRATION OF BICYCLE: Every person residing in the Municipality should register their bicycle with the City Police Department. The purpose of registering bicycles is to afford the Police Department tracing capabiity for lost stolen or found bicycles. Section 2. There is no fee for registration. 0 0 Section 3. The registration is effective for the life of the bicycle or until the bicycle ownership changes. r� The registration form will be provided by the Police Department and will include ownership and bicycle description information. The registration form shall be done in duplicate and the bicycle owner 0 0 will be provided the copy for their own records. Section 4. However, it is the responsibility of the bicycle owner to keep the bicycle in a safe mechanical condition. Section 5. Section 6. Said agency shall maintain company records to identify all bicycles under their control. Section 7. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconcistent herewith are hereby repealed. Section 8. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication according to law.
