HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 19100 • BILL NO. 20 ORDINANCE NO. 1910 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND PORTIONS OF TITLE V, CHAPTER 8, SECTION 3 AND SECTION 4 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF IDAHO, PERTAINING TO BLOCK LENGTH, CUL -DE -SAC LENGTH, LOOP STREET LENGTH, CUL -DE -SAC DIMENSIONS AND COMMON LOTS IN PLATTED SUBDIVISIONS: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS, ORDERS AND PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE MAYOR AND THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF IDAHO: Section 1. That Title V. Chapter 8, Section 3, Subsection (C) (1) (e) (1) of the Municipal code of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho, shall be amended by adding and deleting certain language as follows: Cul -de -sac streets with a length greater than 150 feet shall terminate in a circular right -of -way fifty -five feet (55') in radius with an improved traffic turning circle fifty feet (50') in radius. Cul -de -sac streets with a length of 150 feet or less shall terminate in a circular right -of -way fifty feet (50') in radius with an improved traffic turning circle forty -five feet (45') in radius. The Commission may approve an equally convenient form of turning space where extreme conditions justify. Section 2. That Title V, Chapter 8, Section 3, Subsection (D) (1) of the Municipal Code of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho, shall be amended by adding and deleting certain language as follows: Maximum length of blocks, measured along the centerline of the street and between intersecting street centerlines, shall be thirteen hundred twenty feet (1320') and a minimum of two hundred fifty feet (250'). Blocks shall be as long as reasonably Possible under the circumstances within the above maximums in order to achieve depth and Possible street economy and to reduce the expense and safety hazard arising from excessive street intersections. Block length and width set forth herein may be varied by the City Council for an industrial subdivision. Section 3. That Title V, Chapter 8, Section 3, Subsection (D) (2) of the Municipal Code of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho, shall be amended by adding and deleting certain language as follows: 1 0 0 Maximum length of cul -de -sac streets shall be six hundred sixty feet (660') measured from the intersection of right -of -way lines to the extreme depth of the turning circle along the street centerline. An exception may be made where topography justifies but shall not be made merely because the tract has restrictive boundary dimensions, wherein provisions should be made for extension of a street Pattern to the adjoining unplatted Parcel and a temporary turnaround installed. Section 4. That Title V, Chapter 8, Section 3, Subsection (D) (4) of the Municipal Code of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho, shall be amended by adding and deleting certain language as follows: Loop Streets: The maximum length of loop streets shall be two thousand feet (2000'). Section 5. That Title V, Chapter 8, Section 3, Subsection (E) (10) of the Municipal Code of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho, shall be amended by adding certain language as follows: Section 6. That Title V, Chapter 8, Section 4, Subsection (E) (8) of the Municipal Code of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho, shall be amended by adding and deleting certain language as follows: Water SuPP1Y: Each lot shall be supplied with safe, Pure and Potable water in sufficient volume and Pressure for domestic use and fire Protection in accordance with City standards and Section 10 -1 -1 of the City Code of Caldwell. Section 7. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent are hereby repealed. Section 8. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its Passage, approval and Publication according to law. 2 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Caldwell this 5th day Of August , 1991.
