ORDINANCE NO. 1827
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE V, CHAPTER 1, OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF
IDAHO, PERTAINING TO BUILDING CODE BY ADDING AND DELETING
LANGUAGE IN SECTION 1, PERTAINING TO ADOPTION OF BUILDING
CODE; SECTION 3 PERTAINING TO ADOPTION OF UNIFORM CODE FOR
THE ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS; AND CHAPTER 5, SECTION
1 PERTAINING TO UNIFORM HOUSING CODE ADOPTED: REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS, ORDERS OR PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CALDWELL, IDAHO, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF IDAHO:
Section 1. That Title V, Chapter 1 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho, shall be
amended by adding and deleting certain language in Section 1
pertaining to Adoption of Building Code as follows:

construction, al teration, remov demolition, use and occupancy,
location and maintenance of buil dings and structures that certain
Building Code known as the Uniform Buil ding Code, Copyrighted by
the Internationa Conference of Building Officia 1988 Edition,
toge with the inclusion of Appendix Chapters 32 and 70 as
amended in the 1988 edition of the U.B. Standards which is on
file in the Office of the Building Official.
Section 2. That Title V, Chapter 1, of the Municipal Code
of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho, shall
be amended by adding and deleting certain language in Section 3
pertaining to Adoption of Uniform Code for the Abatement of
Dangerous Buildings as follows:
5 -1 -3: ADOPTION OF UNIFORM CODE FOR THE ABATEMENT OF
DANGEROUS BUILDINGS: There is hereby adopted for the purpose of
providing a just, equitable and practicable method, to be
cumulative with and in addition to, any other remedy provided by

the Building Code, Housing Code or otherwise available at law,
where buildings or structures which from any cause endanger the
life, limb, health, morals, property, safety or welfare of the
general public or their occupants may be required to be repaired,
vacated or demolished, that certain code known as the Uniform
Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, copyrighted by the
International Conference of Building Officials, a we — e611ti-en

Section 3. That Title V, Chapter 5, of the Municipal Code
of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho, shall
be amended by adding and deleting certain language in Section 1
pertaining to Uniform Housing Code Adopted as follows:
5 -5 -1: UNIFORM HOUSING CODE ADOPTED: That a certain
document, es one (1) copy of which is on file in
the Office of the X34 Building Official of the City, certified
by him and being known and designated as the Uniform Housing Code
i9-63 1988, Edition, published by the International Conference of
Building Officials with the appendix thereto, and the amendments
hereinafter made thereto be, and the same is hereby adopted as
the Housing code of the City to provide the minimum requirements
for the protection of life, health, property, safety and welfare
of the general public, and the owners and occupants of
residential buildings in said City.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances
inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval, and publication according
to law.
