BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, COUNTY OF CANYOU-, STATE OF IDAHO: Section 1. That Chapter 6, Title I, Sections 1 through 17 pertaining to C ity Clerk be repealed. Section 2. That a new Chapter 6, Sections 1 through 8 pertaining to City Clerk be added to Title I of the Municipal Code of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, Idaho, as follows: CITY CLERK 1 -6 -1: APPOIFTMENT: There is hereby created the position of City Clerk, a position which shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. 1-6-2: GENERAL STATEiMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for all the official documents of the municipality and acts as clerk of the governing body. Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position. 1-6-3: SUPERVISION RECEIVED: 'v4orks under the general guidance and direction of the Mayor. 1-6-4: SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises a small staff of the City Clerk's Office. 1-6-5: EXAM PLF; OF DUTIES: (illustrative only) Directs the custody of all ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and all other official documents of the City. Directs the undatinq of the City Code. Attests the Mayor's signature on official documents of the City. Administers official oaths for the City. maintains a legislative history record of all items which have appeared before the Council. Supervises the microfilming and maintenance of all permanent records of the City. Directs the conduct of all - Page 1 - ' municipal elections. Attends all city Council meetings and acts as Clerk of the Council at these meetings. Directs the preparation of the official minutes of Council meetings. Is � responsible for all details of Council meetings; nregpceo and � keeps up to date all records and documents of Council business; � prepares Council agenda, notifies persons when they are to appear � at meetings, and sees that the requiced documents are assembled and available.
