ORDINANCE NO. 1651
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE VI, CHAPTER 2, SECTION 2.1 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE
OF IDAHO, BY ADDING CERTAIN LANGUAGE TO THE SIGN SCHEDULE, TABLE
4, ZONING REGULATIONS, TO PROHIBIT ILLUMINATED SIGNS FOR SPECIAL
USES IN THE R -1 AND R -2 RESIDENTIAL ZONES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES,
RESOLUTIONS, ORDERS OR PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL,
COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF IDAHO:
Section 1. That Title VI, Chapter 2, Section 2.1, Table 4,
Sign Schedule, Zoning Regulations of the Municipal Code of the
City of Caldwell, Idaho, be amended as follows:
ZONING DISTRICT PERMITTED SIGN
R -1, R -2 One name sign or home occupation sign for
each dwelling unit. The sign shall not
be more than 2 square feet in area and
shall be unlighted and attached flush to
the building.
One temporary sign advertising the sale,
lease or rental of the property on which
it is located. The sign shall not be more
than 4 1/2 square feet in area and shall
not be illuminated.
One temporary sign advertising the sale of
a tract of land or a subdivision. The sign
shall not be more than 32 square feet in
area and shall not be illuminated and shall
be set back at least 30 feet from property
lines.
A sign identifying a special use shall be
permitted. The sign shall not be more than
32 square feet in area, shall not be illumi
nated and shall be set back at least 10
feet from property lines.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL this 5th
day of July, 1983.
