AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE V, CHAPTER 1, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY
OF CALDWELL, IDAHO, RELATING TO BUILDING CODE BY DELETING AND ADDING
CERTAIN LANGUAGE IN SECTION 1 PERTAINING TO ADOPTION OF BUILDING CODE:
SECTION 3 PERTAINING TO ADOPTION OF UNIFORM CODE FOR THE ABATEMENT OF
DANGEROUS BUILDINGS, SECTION 4C PERTAINING TO MOVING BUILDINGS AND DUTIES OF
OWNERS, SECTION 6 PERTAINING TO BOND: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS,
ORDERS OR PARTS HEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL of the City of Caldwell,
County of Canyon, State of Idaho:
Section 1. That Section 1, Chapter 1, Title V of the Municipal Code
of the City of Caldwell be amended as follows:
5 -1 -1: ADOPTION OF BUILDING CODE: There is hereby adopted for the
purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the construction,
alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location
and maintenance of buildings and structures, that certain Building Code
known as the Uniform Building Code, copyrighted by the International
Conference of Building Officials, 1949 1982 Edition together with amendments
and revisions thereof with the exec s #en -ef- Appendix7- ehapter -12 inclusion
of Appendix, Chapters Number 7, Covered Mall Buildings; number 32, Re-
roofing; Number 49, Patio Covers; and the "Uniform Building Code Standards
1982 Edition, published by the International Conference of Building Officials
5 -1 -2: FEES: From and after July 21, 1979, applicants for
construction repair of remodeling of any building shall pay to the Building
Official fees established by the Building Official by Rule and Regulation
subject to approval by the City Council.
Section 2. That a new Section 3, Chapter 1, Title V be added and
the present Section 3 be changed to Section 4 as follows:
5 -1 -3: ADOPTION OF UNIFORM CODE FOR TH ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS
BUILDINGS: There is hereby adopted for the — p urpose of providing a just
equitable and practicable method, to be cumulative with and in addition to
any other remedy provided by the Building Code, Housing C ode or otherw
available at law, where buildings or structures which from an cause
endangers the life, limb, health, morals, property, safety or welfare of
the general public or their occupants may be required t be repaired,
vacated or demolished, that certain Code known as The Uniform Code for the
abatement of dangerous buildings, copyrighted by the In
Conference of Building Officials, 1982 Edition

Section 3. ThO Section 4C, Chapter 1, Toe V be deleted as
follows:
5 -1 -4: MOVING BUILDINGS AND DUTIES OF OWNERS: It shall be unlawful
for any person to move any building along, over or through any public
place within the corporate limits without first having applied to and
obtained from the Building Inspector a permit so to do and without
thereafter complying with all the provisions of said permit and this
Chapter. And further, before any building or structure for which a moving
permit is required is moved into or within the City, the owner or his
agent shall:
(A) Provide the Building Department with present location and
future destination of the building or structure to be moved.
(B) Upon written notification prior to moving, the Building
Department shall cause the building or structure to be inspected
and examined for compliance with all Codes applicable and to see
that it will be consistent with the type of buildings or structures
in the area to which it will be moved as not to depreciate the value
of surrounding property.

5 -1 -5: PERMIT; APPLICATION: In order to obtain a permit, the
applicant therefor shall file with the Building Inspector an application
in writing. Said application shall contain accurate statements of the
kind and character of building it is proposed to move; its dimensions; the
materials out of which it is constructed; the legal description of the
premises upon which it is to be moved; a description of the route over
which it is proposed to move the same; and a description of the means to
be employed in moving such building.
