HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1372• i BILL NO. 4 ORDINANCE NO, 1372 BY Councilman Olesen AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 5, CHAPTER 3, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF IDAHO, BY REPEALING SECTION 5 -3 -8, AND BY SUBSTITUTING THEREFOR A NEW SECTION 5 -3 -8 AUTHORIZING ELECTRICAL INSPECTION FEES: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR THIS ORDINANCE TO TAKE EFFECT AFTER ITS PASSAGE, APPROVAL AND PUBLICATION ACCORDING TO LAW. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF IDAHO: SECTION 1. That Section 5 -3 -8 of the City Code of the City of Caldwell be, and the same is, hereby repealed. SECTION 2. That Section 5 -3 -8 of the City Code of the City of Caldwell be, and the same is, hereby enacted to read as follows: 5 -3 -8: SCHEDULE OF ELECTRICAL INSPECTION FEES: (A) TEMPORARY SERVICES: A temporary service is a service entrance which will be used for construction purposes only, and which will be removed when construction is completed. All other services are classified as perma- nent. An inspection fee of $5.00 will be required for temporary services as herein defined. (B) RESIDENTIAL: Service rated 100 ampere or less - $7.50 plus $1.00 for each room in which any wiring is installed. Service rated over 100 ampere to 200 ampere $10.00 plus $1.00 for each room in which any wiring is installed. Over 200 ampere $15.00 plus $1.00 for each room in which any wiring is installed. Included shall be all finished and unfinished rooms including basements, residential garages and carports, etc. (Areas such as a combination ORDINANCE - I kitchen - dining shall be counted as a room for each indicated use). Apartment buildings, including 8 units, come under this paragraph and each apartment shall be counted as an individual residence. WHEN THERE IS NO CHANGE IN SERVICE - Extension or addition to an existing circuit $5.00. Installation of one new circuit $5.00. Installation of Sub -Feed panel or feeder and additional circuits same as residential for size and number of rooms wired. (C) RESIDENTIAL ELECTRIC SPACE HEATING: 1 to 5 KW - $5.00 plus $2.00 for each 5 KW or fraction thereof in excess of 5 KW. These fees are an addition to the fees for general wiring covered in Section (B). (D) DOMESTIC WATER PUMPS: $3.50 in addition to required residential fee. When separate from residential construction, permit $7.50. (E) MOBILE HOMES - EACH CONNECTION OR RECONNECTION: Service rated 100 amperes, or less, $7.50 plus $3.00 each addi- tional feeder or branch circuit connected at same time as mobile home. Services over 100 amperes $10.00 plus $3.00 each additional feeder or branch circuit connected at same time as mobile home. (F) OTHER INSTALLATIONS INCLUDING INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL: The inspection fees listed in this paragraph shall apply to any and all electrical installations not specifically mentioned elsewhere in this schedule. The wiring cost shall be the cost to the owner of all labor charges and all wiring materials and equipment installed as part of the wiring system. When labor is performed by the owner for uniformity of fee such labor cost shall be based upon the market value of said labor and used or reused ORDINANCE - 2 materials shall be based at 50% of new retail cost or actual cost whichever is greater. The value of factory installed wiring switches and controls on equipment shall be included in wiring costs and paid through the permittee by those furnishing such equipment. Motors, appliances, and utilization equipment (except light fixtures) need not be included. APARTMENT BUILDINGS with 9 or more dwelling units come under this schedule. MOBILE HOME PARKS - Distribution wiring including pedestal or service is under this section. Note: This does not include or permit the connection of the mobile home. See Section (E). Recreation Vehicle parks, service conductors, distribution and lot supply to individual units come under this schedule plus $3.00 per lot. Wiring cost not exceeding $100 - $7.50 Wiring cost over $100 not exceeding $500 - $7.50 plus 2% of total wiring cost Wiring cost over $500 not exceeding $10,000 - $17.50 plus 1% of that portion of the wiring costs exceeding $500 Wiring cost over $10,000 - $117.50 plus k of 1% of that portion of wiring costs exceeding $10,000 (G) WATER PUMPS, EACH MOTOR: to 5 HP - $ 7.50 101 to 125 HP - $17.00 5 to 10 HP - $10.00 126 to 150 HP - $18.00 11 to 25 HP - $13.00 151 to 175 HP - $19.00 26 to 50 HP - $14.00 176 to 200 HP - $20.00 51 to 75 HP - $15.00 201 to 300 HP - $24.00 76 to 100 HP - $16.00 Over 300 HP - $24.00 plus $4.00 per 100 HP over 300 (H) ELECTRICALLY DRIVEN IRRIGATION MACHINE: Center Pivot $10.00 plus $5.00 per tower or drive motor. Other ORDINANCE - 3 types $10.00 plus $5.00 per motor. Note: The Electric supply to the irrigation machine shall be in addition to above and according to Section (F). (I) ELECTRIC SIGNS AND OUTLINE LIGHTING: Electric Signs $5.00 plus $.10 per sq. ft. measured on one side. Out- line lighting $5.00 plus $.02 per ft. of tubing. (J) REQUESTED INSPECTIONS OF EXISTING WIRING: $11.00 minimum for 1 hour or less. Over 1 hour $11.00 plus $5.50 for each k hour or portion thereof in excess of 1 hour including travel time. (K) REINSPECTION: When corrections have not been made in prescribed time and an extension has not been requested and granted, $10.00. (L) REINSPECTION: Fee for permits not clearly giving location of installation either by directions or maps, $10.00. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law. PASSED BY THE COUNCIL of the City of Caldwell this 3rd day of February , 1976.
