AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 -3 -6 of CHAPTER 3, TITLE III OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO, INCREASING THE MINIMUM CHARGE FOR WATER SERVICE AND TAP TO THE CITY WATER MAINS OR PIPES IN .STREETS OR AVENUES OF WIDTHS FROM FIFTY FEET (50 TO EIGHTY FEET (80') INCLUSIVE. FROM SEVENTY DOLLARS ($70.00) TO ONE HUNDRED TWENTY -FIVE DOLLARS ($125.00), AND INCREASING THE ACTUAL COST OF MATERIAL USED AND LABOR INVOLVED IN "SERVICE RUNS" OF THREE - FOURTHS INCH (3/4 ") COPPER PIPE COMPLETE IN PLACE TO BE FIGURED AT THE RATE OF ONE DOLLAR AND FIFTY CENTS ($1.50) PER LINEAR FOOT INSTEAD OF ONE DOLLAR ($1.00) PER LINEAR FOOT, AND PROVIDING FOR THIS ORDINANCE TO BE IN FORCE FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, APPROVAL AND PUBLICATION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho: Section 1. That Section 3 -3 -6 of Chapter 3 of Title III of the City Code of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, be amended to read as follows: "3 -3 -6: CHARGES: The minimum charge for water service and tap to the City water mains, or pipes, when made in streets or avenues of widths from fifty feet (50') to eighty feet (80') inclusive shall be one hundred twenty -five dollars ($125.00) and shall provide a "Standard Water Service and Tap" as follows: One (1) three - fourths inch (3/4 ") corporation stop at the main. One (1) Service Run of three- fourths inch (3/4 ") copper pipe, to a maximum distance of fifty -five feet (55'). One (1) five - eights by three - fourths inch (5/8" x 3/4 ") standard make water meter. One (1) three - fourths inch (3/4 ") curb stop. One (1) eighteen inch (18 ") concrete meter box, with cover. The labor required to make the service and tap. Two (2) meter couplings. One (1) three - fourths inch (3/4 ") ninety degree (90 °) copper ell. One (1) three - fourths inch (3/4 ") adapter. r If the applicant for a service requests, and is granted, a water service and tap differing from the above "Standard Water Service and Tap" in either size, type or quantity of material, the charge shall not be less than one hundred twenty -five dollars ($125.00), but it shall equal the .actual cost of the material used and the labor involved in making the service and tap if the changes or additions make the total cost, labor plus material, of said service and tap exceed one hundred twenty -five dollars ($125.00). The actual cost of material used and labor involved in "Service Runs" of three- fourths inch (3/4 ") copper pipe, complete in place, shall be figured at a rate of one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per linear foot. The patching of cuts to be made, or made, in the paved or oiled surface of the streets, in connection with the making of a water service tap, shall be made by the City and the cost thereof, to be figured at the rate of thirty cents (30¢) per square foot, shall be considered as an "Extra Cost" to be added to the "Water Service and Tap Charges" outlined herein." Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication. PASSED By the Council this 16th day of July, 1973.
